If you experience a problem where the washer does not drain properly or the drain pump makes excessive noise, here's the information you need to check the drain pump:

Symptom: PUMP IS RUNNING, BUT NOT DRAINING PROPERLY.

1. Unplug the washer while servicing inside the unit.
2. Remove the lower kick panel under the door by removing the three 7mm screws under the bottom edge of the panel. HINT: Use a couple of blocks of wood to prop up the front feet of the washer to gain better access to the screws. Once the screws are removed the panel should drop down, and then pull off. If the panel becomes stuck, a slight tap on either side will dislodge it.
3. Locate the drain pump. It will be located directly under the wash tub (it is the only pump this washer has).
4. There is an access removal cover on the pump that can be removed to clean out the trap. BEFORE doing this, it is strongly recommended that you remove all residual water from the wash tub & drain line or you will have about a gallon or so inside your washer and on the floor to clean up.
5. Here's a helpful way of quickly removing the residual water. If you own a wet/dry shop vac, remove the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum with the shop vac. This will empty the wash tub, pump and drain lines. If you don't own a shop vac, grab a bunch of old towels and open the access on the pump slowly so that it comes out at a trickle. Allow the towels to soak up the majority of the water. Close the access and stop the water if you need to get additional towels.
6. Open the pump access and remove once you have all the water drained. Check the drain pump for foreign objects and debris. Check the pump impeller and make sure there's nothing caught in it. Items as small as toothpicks or cotton swabs have been known to stop this pump from working.
7. Clean out the pump thoroughly and reinstall the access cover. Make sure the cover is snug, but do not over tighten.
8. Place the drain hose back in the standpipe (IMPORTANT - DO NOT FORGET!).
9. With the bottom panel still off, plug the washer back in and select the following on the operator console - DRAIN SPIN, NO SPIN, and then press any button under OPTIONS 4 times (it must be the same button). "C00" will show on the console display as the washer begins diagnostics mode.
10. Check the drain pump for leaks as the washer fills. The pump is gravity filled and will hold water even it is not pumping. Allow washer to run through diagnostics until it begins the wash tub tumble cycle.
11. At this point, you can stop the diagnostics procedure by pressing PAUSE/CANCEL 2 times. The drain pump energizes and the washer will begin to drain.
12. If the drain pump works normal and there are no leaks detected, reinstall the bottom panel and tighten screws.

NOTE: It is normal to have residual water left inside the wash tub under the wash basket. This is why it is important to leave the door ajar when not in use so this water does not become sour.

I have a Miele g7856 and I just replaced the drain hose now I get a F2E code ?

The F 2E code indicates insufficient water coming into the dishwasher. Thus you should check that the shut-off valves for the incoming water lines are open. Make sure that the incoming water pressure hasn't decreased and that the water lines aren't kinked or blocked. You should also check the water inlet filters (at the screw connection of the hose) and the flow restrictor insert in the waterproof system.

Since the dishwasher was working before the drain hose was replaced, closed shut-off valves and kinked hoses are particularly likely. You may also want to replace the inlet hoses themselves. (Some anti-burst hoses will restrict the water flow if they detect a leak.)

I hope this helps.

My miele dishwasher shows intake/drain light flashes, it seems to me that drain works but no water goes into the dishwasher

hi, firstly check the filter in the waterproof system where the tap is to make sure it is not blocked. turn off the water and remove the connection with the white box attached this is the waterproof system. remove the black seal and you will see the filter. pull it out with a pair of pliers and clean it.

if this is ok check to see if you have a restrictor on the tap or inside the tap and also make sure water is flowing from the tap prior to reconnecting the waterproof system.
run the unit again and when it is time for the machine to call for water you can manually fill it and see if it works using a saucepan or bucket. if this works ok you may have a stuck waterproof system and probably need to replace this.
Hope this helps

Kenmore he3 showing suds and fo2

Check your drain pump. The two error codes usually indicate you have something restricting the drainage system. "F02"is a Long Drain error code, "SUDS" occurs when too much air is sensed in the drainage system. In most cases, the drain pump reservoir needs to be cleaned out. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574284-checking_the_drain_pump_on_a_front_loade

If you check the drain pump reservoir and the problem still persists, you may have a pump with a damaged motor/impeller, or something lodged in one of the drain lines. In particular, the drain line that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the pump.

I recommend you remove the inlet hose, first and inspect for clogs. In is common for small garments to become lodged in this area and restrict water flow to the drain pump. Check the output drain line for obstructions as well.

It does not take much to damage this small drain pumps. The error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes. So...if the impeller or motor become damaged, and the pump does not pull water at the correct volume, you may still experience the drain error. In this case, you will have to replace the pump in order to get the error to clear. The following link explains how:

Optima G2430 Miele dishwasher with intake/drain flashing light

Hi,
F13 is an inlet fault.
First the unit drains and then fills with water. When the unit has intially drained open the door and manually fill the unit with water, about 5lts. This will then allow the dishwasher to go to the next step which is to circulate the water. If this works ok then the water tap is defective, water inlet valve is defective or the electronic unit is not sending the signal to activate the valve. The water inlet valve is the white square box attached to the tap. Remove this and check the filter and make sure water comes out of the tap.If ok then remove the bottom panel of the unit under the door. On the right hand side there is a 2 core cable with a male and female connector. Unplug this and check for voltage from the electronic when the unit goes to fill with water. If there is 240v then the electronic is ok. You will then need a new waterproof system from Miele.

My washer is showing a code

E10 code indicates there is no water supply. This can be confirmed by :
  1. Shut off the faucet to stop water supply to the washer.
  2. Disconnect and pulling the supply hose off the washer to confirm the E10Code
    • Opening the faucet and watch for running water if you have water
  3. Can be caused by bad pressure switch
  4. Can also be caused by clogged pump
  5. also by too low of a drain hose height.
Check for clean filters of the inlet water line.
Check that the drain hose was assembled as per the manual's instructions.

F4 Fault indication

F4 is a water inlet fault. It doesn't make sense if you have this fault indication with water flowing into the unit. Does the dishwasher drain properly? Usual suspects for an F4 indication would be a clogged inlet line, water supply turned off, bad fill valve, or a control board failure. Let me know if this helps, or give me a little more information on what you have done to correct so far.
