Hello - we have a top loading Maytag Performa washing machine that leaks water during the spin cycle when my wife is washing heavy items that she has placed on center spindal to avoid an unbalanced load. She has been doing this for years with no leaks - leaking significantly now from the front seam and (elsewhere?). Leaking thru floor. What is your advise or what should I look for. Best Art

Two prevent water spillage from the side panel seams near the top of the top loading washer for heavy loads (bath matts, small rugs, etc) do not place the item on the drum spindel during the rinse cycles. Balance the loads in the drum using towels or other heavy load and keep the items in the bottom of the machine.

A knocking noise during agitation wash cycle

could be a bad counter balance , u can remove the front panel and run a spin or wash cycle and listen to where its coming from so u don't have to replace all the balancers. on some models theres a heavy ceramic weight at bottom that at times goes bad and throws it off balance, just run it and look where noise is coming from

Maytag Preforma spins out of control

a couple of thoughts:
1. Take top off and check to make sure springs/absorbers are in place and not broken..
2. Try a load with no clothes and see if it happens.
Good luck.

Grinding sound during agitation cycle on my Maytag Performa

Its probably you stator plate and rotor. But you need special tools for this repair. There a spring that is under 200 pounds of pressure and if you take the screws off that hold the plate its going to fly into you face if your dont use the special tools to depress the spring. Is it more of a clanking kinda of noise? DOes it olnly happen with heavy loads? Try this out. Fill the washer with water only. and get it into a wash cycle with water only. If there is no noise then put in like a load of towels. A heavy load. Now if you hear the noise now then its for sure you stator plate and rotor..hope this helps, but like i said you need those special tools to do this repair or injury can result from the spring part.

Leaks water on floor and spin cycle very loud

if it sounds like a boeing jet, you will need a new seal & bearing kit. This is something a technician would have to do. many "special" spanner wrenches and spring tools required

Maytag Performa PAV2300 washer leaks

Hi hindsr

I dont know for sure what it is but i would guess that the tub is going off balance during the spin just befor the rinse and the tub is not centered. so what happens is watter hits the top of the tub and runs down the back (inside) and thats where the water is comming from.

Leak from maytag top load coin machine during spin drain cycle only

Possible that you would have a tub seal leak if it is only noticable during spin cycle. Possible that it "drips" slightly while in agitation, but not enough to notice it. While in spin mode you have a lot more parts moving as well as a lot more water pressure on the seal itself. Pump could also be leaking, but highly doubtful since it would leak a constant amount at all times. Good Luck!!! Jim
