go to system manager to reformat the hard drive
make sure that you know what you are doing because formatting a hard drive means that everything ( operating system, files folders) --everything is lost for good
better is you find the disc repair section in the manager section and use that and not the format section or return to a previous date before the problem and reinstall to that date

sc320 on the Lanier 5635 is a laser unit error code. Often if you power cycle the machine (turn it off with the orange power switch on the left side of the copier, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on) the code will clear and the copier will resume normal operation. If the error code comes back or doesn't clear, you'll probably need to replace either the entire laser assembly or the polygon mirror motor inside the laser unit. These are best done by a professional -- contact your local Lanier service company if the problem persists.
