Yes this was the problem. Dryer is happily drying clothes as we speak.

Maytag Dryer and FE code means power source "Frequency Error".
Invalid power... you will need a electrican to come out the power is not wired up right.

I would replace the wall receptacle before buying any dryer parts

I am about to find out! But according to Tim Mereno, which by the way sells the part for 65. said it is not really to difficult! I will let you know.

the problem is with its motherboard .. i too had the same problem.. ask the repairing persons to change the motherboard if it is warranted. ( but there is no other way)..

Just remove the screws around the vent tube in the back and you can see the belt tensioner laying there on the floor of the dryer.
Most likely someone turned the drum the wrong direction and the belt came off.
The belt goes through the opening in the tensioner and under the idler pulley and then onto the motor drive pulley. Make sure to have the tensioner mounted into the floor first.
It just slides over into a slot and then over to the other side as tension is put on it.

take the door off. take the front panel off. take the belt off the tumbler. take the tumbler out. you should see the roller. everything is held with regular phillips head screws.
