SOURCE: C:31:23 error with DCR-PC101 Sony camcoder

Had the same error message on my TRV-720, and could not come up with a solution for weeks until I found this website:

http://www.protechcam.com/wwwboard/messages/127.html

Now the fix you will not believe, nor did I at first, but requires you to power off the unit completely and "Smack it" a few times fairly hard.
Now you may do this at your risk, but I swear it fixed mine and all the other people listed at the above web site.
I thought it was a joke - but it works!!

Good Luck!

SOURCE: Sony Handycam Dig 8 doesn't recognize tape when trying to record

If it has memory stick, Make sure your memory stick is in. Your memory stick is full. Delete the unwanted pictures from the memory stick or use a differnt biger memory stick.

I looked in the manual. It seems your camcorder does not have a slot for memory stick. But you may still save pictures on the tape. Here is the link to download the manual

Please read Page 40 "recording picture on the tape".

GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do I view video

First set the camera to Playback mode. On the back of the camera there are two circular buttons. Looking at the top circular button, the bottom option is a right-pointing arrow. Press that arrow.

The last thing you photographed or recorded will display on the screen. If this is not what you are looking for, you will need to navigate to the correct item. To do this, use the bottom circular button that has both a left-pointing arrow and a right-pointing arrow. Use the left-pointing arrow to go back through your images/recordings.

The video recording should play automatically and repeat when completed.

My The Kodak ZxD Pocket Video Camera won't record anymore. there is a little explanation point in the bottom right corner.

It means that your on-board memory is full and you need to add an SD card. I had same problem and this fixed it immediately. The stinking on-board memory can hold only 1 30 second video!

Panasonic pv-gs15 will not play back recorded video in the mini dv deck. all i see is a blue screen with red text ''picture'' on bottom right corner of the screen

Make sure your tape tab is open. See if this works. Sometimes the tab should be closed to prevent eraser or recording over existing film but sometimes the tape tab has to be open to allow for playback or dubbing?

I am trying to play back video from Sony Handycam on tv, the sound is perfect but i have no picture, im sure it must be something simple. i have handycam a/v out attached to the yellow red and white...

Hi,
First remember that the "Yellow" is for video signals the Red and White are for audio.
first connect the camera leads directly to the TV. First yellow connector of camera attach with the "Video in" of Tv and same as Red and White of camera as Audio IN of Tv. And you will both get sound and audio.
Now same as connect the camera connectors Yellow in Video In of the DVD and Red & White For Audio In in the DVD, Now a new lead connect to DVD out Video "yellow pin" to the TV Video IN ans same as Red & Whit in TV IN. By this procedure you will get the Video and Audio from your camera.
     Hope this will help you.
     Thanks.

Recorded video segment plays back in fast motion. How do i reset

This is a really simple problem and easy to solve.  Unfortunately the videos you've recorded cannot be changed back because they have been recorded in Time Lapse mode.
With the camera switched on in Video Mode turn the control dial on the back (this is the dial to the right of the LCD screen).  This will change the settings from TIME LAPSE to STANDARD.  There are actually 6 different modes but the best one for normal videos is STANDARD.  There is a HIGH RESOLUTION setting,  however these record fewer frames per second (fps) so whilst the quality is better per frame,  there are half the amount of fps so the the movie will look at bit jerky.
It's really easy to accidentally twist the dial when holding the camera,  so always check the icon in the top right of the LCD before recording to make sure its just a yellow camera in a yellow square.
This should be problem solved for all future recordings.
