Hi,
First remember that the "Yellow" is for video signals the Red and White are for audio.
first connect the camera leads directly to the TV. First yellow connector of camera attach with the "Video in" of Tv and same as Red and White of camera as Audio IN of Tv. And you will both get sound and audio.
Now same as connect the camera connectors Yellow in Video In of the DVD and Red & White For Audio In in the DVD, Now a new lead connect to DVD out Video "yellow pin" to the TV Video IN ans same as Red & Whit in TV IN. By this procedure you will get the Video and Audio from your camera.
     Hope this will help you.
     Thanks.

I have an August VGB100 and Im trying to convert Hi8 tapes to DVD using a sony handycam. I cant get sound on the computer when Im capturing.

Im not sure about your computer setup. Are you capturing via usb or have dedicated video capture device? Do you have sound when connected camera to tv. Does your video capturing device require to supply sound separate for example from camera headphone jack to video capture device?

After 90 minutes or so of perfect play back... the picture became very distorted (static) and lost the sound completely. I manually cleaned the head. Distortion is less, sound still out.

Will not play on new RCA LCD TV tried different

Try hooking up your sony handycam to a different monitor or tv to make sure it is putting out a good video signal using an S-Video cable. Then once you know your cords are good and you have a good video signal, hook it back up to the RCA LCD unit. If it is still not working make sure that the RCA LCD is set to receive the Hi8 signal via the S-Video cable. There may be a switch or menu setting on your RCA LCD to accept the Hi8 signal or also refered to as S- Video.

I hoped that helped and good luck!

No sound

I had the same problem. No sounds when I play back videos. No sounds either when I connect it to my TV and play the videos. It turns out that the problem is not in the playback mode. The problem is while recording videos, It cannot capture sounds anymore. So when you play it, It has no sound at all. I took it to the SONY Service Center here in Manila and after 1 week it was already fixed. I asked what the problem is so that I could avoid it in the future. The Sony Technician said that he cleaned or fixed a sound component/chip or something but did not replaced anything. It is a problem that when you connect the handycam to your TV and it is very close to the TV, a feedback occurs (a high pitch sounds that it really irritating). When this happens, it triggers the problem that we have encountered. You should bring it to the Sony Service Center near you.

Sony dcr-dvd105 no sound

Try this:
Play back a recently recorded scene through the viewing screen. Make sure any "mute" setting is turned off and turn the volume up. If you can hear the sound, the problem is not in the camera. Also, run through your menu's audio settings to make sure that they are set correctly.
If you can't hear any sound, repeat the process with an external mike attached. If this gives you sound, the camera's built in mike is defective. Time to hand it in for repair.
If you still can't hear any sound, something else is wrong with the camera. Again, send it in for repair.

No sound on playback

The S-video cable carries picture only. You need to also hook up RCA audio cables from the camcorder to the TV

Rolling of picture

Hi,
You camera is PAL and you are attaching with Ntsc TV or VCR. Both Pal and Ntsc are different systems and incompatible to each other.
If you want to see correct playback of your Camera, it requires Pal or Multi-System color TV.
Need further info, please let me know.

Rolling of picture

It seems your Handycam has " Pal " system and you are watching it on " NTSC " TV. If your TV is Multi Color System, please select Pal color system. Hope this info will be helpful for you.
