GE model PSC23SGRC SS refrigerator freezer door disassembly

I have a GE model PSX23SGRC SS refrigerator. The rubber seal on the ice dispenser door is shot. I have the replacement part "Door Recess Assembly #WR17X11653" I am unable to get the dispenser apart to install it. the directions I have say to remove the screws under the door gasket to disassemble the freezer door. There are no such screws, the inner panel seems to be bonded to the door. How do I get the dispenser apart?

Access from front of freezer door. Trim is just pushed into friction holders. Selector area snaps in. Phillip screws under that removes ice shoot.

Freezer is full of snow

Check freezer and refrigerator door seals, ice dispenser ice door and floor of freezer for ice buildup caused by a defrost drain blockage. If ice door is stuck open it will allow for warm moist air to be drawn inside freezer and collect as frost over everything. Is GTS16BCS the correct model number listed above your post? I will be here should you have questions, Thanks Sea Breeze

I have a GE side by side refer. model # GSS25PSM. I'm getting water leaking along the bottom of the ice/water dispenser flange, then down the door face staining the SS. Any ideas? Thanks!!!

Duct door. Look up where the ice comes through the door if it's sweating the duct door is not sealing and you will probably have frost in the chute on the inside.

Rust ruining door at lower corners of ice/water dispenser.

when you dispense ice or water, you are allowing the drip tray to overfill and the water builds underneath the tray until the water reaches the point were it will leak down the front of the door. the water will rust the panel beyond repair. you will have to replace the whole door at this point. hope this helps.

Frost buildup inside freezer door at ice dispenser

you are still not getting a seal on that flap. It sounds as if it may be warped. THe reason the frost and ice is building up is due to the flap not sealing there isn't any other reson for your problem. Good luck on your repairs

GE Model PSC23SGRC SS Serial #RH418861. Refrigerator make a howling noise Dave [email protected]

I suggest a defrost with doors open over night, what often happens with this model is that you get an ice build up near the fan which causes an extremly loud noise, very common problem.

PSS26PSTA SS - Only dispenses crushed ice.

Remove the ice dispenser bucket. You will see a square hole at the back wall with a horizontal rod in it. You should be able to move it up and down with you fingers. If not, it may just be frozen. Warm it with a hair blower and try again. If still no luck, the WR62X58 dispenser solenoid may be burnt out / melted and need to be replaced. It is attached to the metal just above and behind that square hole. The removable tray at the bottom of the dispenser recess is a part number WR17X12133 for a PSS26PSTA SS. Contact any GE servicing dealer or general appliance servicer near you to get one. You can get parts direct from GE also, but the won't be any cheaper, and you may pay more shipping and handling.
