After a power outage the fridge stopped cooling yesterday with the heat was so bad we had a blackout the light came back but the fridge is not cooling lie it was.

More likely u have bad main control board locations on back of the unit check for voltage to dispenser board or just unplugged your fridge and remove cover on back for main control check for visual damage

The temperature sensor could be at fault

Assuming that both freezer and refrigerator temperatures have risen and the humming sound that you heard was followed by a sudden click more than likely the start device on the compressor has gone bad. This is a common problem with all Whirlpool refrigerators (KitchenAid is Whirlpools top of the line product and suffers the same problem).

I would chech the components on the compressor. Take the cover off the compressor power terminals and inspect the relay for damage.The power outage is not a concern but the power surge could definately be the cause. hope this helps.

To my knowledge, most compressors would go bad for very few reasons:

• old age;
• no oil;
• immediate resumption of power after an outage or a momentary fluctuation;
• failure of the cooling/ventilator fan (if one is present);
• restricted, poor or no ventilation in the rear of the refrigerator.

It is to this that most manufacturers warranty their compressors up to five (5) years.

In none of the above is applicable, then it is likely that the units that you had were from the same batch that have a manufacturing issue.

Perhaps the pages here, here and here may shed additional insights.

I had a problem with my Viking where the light stayed on in side and was causing havoc with the coling system.
I saved 200.00 doing this.
get a cell phone or a small video camer place it inside the fridge and record to see if the light stays on when the door is closed.
If it does. You may just have a light switch to replace or like I did readjust the push spring that the door hinge hits to active the switch.
Once I did this the light went out and the fridge started cooling normally. the lights will heat up inside the fridge and screw up the thermostat. then the fridge will start to cycle. not good for the compressor.

Replace the fuser assembly unit.

Definitely the fuser got problem. This can be confirm by pressing the Go button and only the Toner LED will light up.

What had happen was right after the power blackout the fuser has fused together both rollers (heating drum and rubber roller) where the paper pass through in between the rollers. Since there was a power blackout, the printer fan has stop functioning and the heat was unable to disperse out from the printer. Suggest to improve on design to disperse heat using aluminium cage in case of power blackout.

Who ever has a Brother HL-2040 should definitely use together with a UPS.
