How to replace dodge Neon headlight bulb?

have you checked the fuses and replaced the bulbs?

dont tack it back cause they will say that you broke it and you fixed it. just try and replace the light housing and your plug

take the headlight out ,think i had to take the bumper off the last one i done to get headlight out

There are drawings. Yes you have to:
remove 3 upper fascia (what is that??) screws
remove 2 screws from the headlight assembly
remove the assembly from the vehicle
remove a retaining ring and replace the bulb
disconnect the electrical connector
remove the retaining ring and replace the bulb

btw it says do not touch the headlight bulb with your fingers, oil contamination will SEVERELY shorten bulb life.

There are a number of products that will help. They involve grit polishes and buffing pads. One made by Mother's works for me. Your local auto parts store can help you.

LICENSE PLATE LAMP BULB
REMOVAL

1. Remove screws attaching license plate lamp to rear bumper
2. Remove lamp from bumper.
3. Remove bulb socket from lamp.
4. Pull bulb from socket.

INSTALLATION

1. Install bulb into socket.
2. Install bulb socket into lamp.
3. Place lamp in position.
4. Install screws attaching license plate lamp to rear bumper.

The wattage of the new headlight bulbs may be to great and exceeding the amperage limit of the fuse.

This is a problem with the control module. It is at the base of the turn signal. In many Neons it melts or shorts out. It is on the NTSB website, but it is not reported enough to get attention. The high beams work if you hold them on, but otherwise the headlights don't work. The module melts from the heat or the current, and needs to be replaced. My Dodge service place even suggested I put in High Intensity light bulbs, and that caused the problem... Which I did not have High Intensity bulbs installed.

Everything is working fine now without anything further being done. Maybe a 'short'. Anyway we will track of if & maybe make a few enquiries. Thanks

No, you can easily reach your hand behind without removing anything and the bulb can be removed and replaced. If your hand is too large then their are two screws on the top of the light assembly that once removed you can pull the hole assembly out and change the bulb
