Here is the manual for your unit. refer to p.18 for the film holder instructions. If you still have questions after reviewing the manual please let me know.
Thank you,

Hi,
When you load the film it has to be emulsion side down so first make sure you are doing this. Then insert the film holder all the way in to the scanner. Then you turn the scanner on. I can give you a link to a manual but I would need to know the model number of your unit. Hope this helps.
I am sorry I couldn't help you but I did try. I don't believe you will be charged if you didn't get help from us. I know I don't get paid if I don't post an accurate solution for you. Again, I am sorry that I couldn't find your answer. I was looking for the answer to your question and you beat me to it. Best wishes......just glad you got it working correctly.

To start ensure that the holder is placed in the right way.
There are plastic tab sensors that are activated by the holder when you push it in, ensure that none of them is stuck.
Try also placing the film upside down and see if that helps.
I am sure that the problem has a simple solution.

This is the problem. I put the holder into the scanner and the window comes up saying put the holder in properly. The holder is in properly right now. The window says put it in properly. How do I do this?

The plastic sensors are not stuck.

The holder won't go in upside down.

Maybe, but I can't find it
Konica/Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV
I haven't used my Dimage scanner for awhile and I am have a problem with the film holder. I put it into the scanner and no matter how far or how little I push the film holder in, a window comes up saying set the holder properly. What is 'properly?' I have no information to explain how to do this. I've pushed the holder all the way in,; I've pushed the holder in as far as the beginning of negative 2, where there is a small arrow which I interpret as 'put the holder in this way;' I have held it back a bit. No matter which way I do this, the same window comes up. Can you help me?
You are wrong, as was the previous 'expert.' I figured it out myself.
When you start the scanner, you don't open the front door where the film holder goes, all the way. You open it only slightly to allow the 35mm holder access to the scanner. You put the holder in up to the arrow that appears on top of the holder. When you click on 'index,' the scanner draws the holder in.
Also, the holder will not go into the scanner upside down.
So, this is a waste of $12.99. I shall remember to exhaust all my possibilities before going to FixYa, in future.
