I do so apologize for the problem during our chat session. One second I was typing in the next step and then suddenly the chat program wouldn't send my chat, and the top of the window said server error.

I would have contacted you before but I did not remember your user name until the website management gave me the info.

If you still do not have your printer working, please download the vista driver here (note where you download the file to.)

Then make sure your printer is not connected to the computer.
Double click the driver file you downloaded to start installing the driver.

When the install asks you how the printer is connected, reconnect the USB cable to the printer and pc.

If you have any other problems with the install, just let me know.

And again I apologize for any inconvenience the interrupted chat session may have caused.

Hi,

Pls try:

• un-install the 9500;
• reboot your PC with the Lexmark's USB connection;
• preferably clean your registry;
• reboot again;
• temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall;
• use the CD installer that came with the Lexmark 9500 and do a clean fresh install. Do not plug in the printer/fax until instructed to do so. Pls follow on screen instructions.

Did the developer problem go away?

I fixed this by completely uninstalling the Lexmark software, then unplugging the USB and restarting. I then installed the new Lexmark software that I downloaded from their site, make sure not to plug the USB back in until it told me to. It then detected the printer properly and started working.
