Lexmark 8300 series will not fax. Will only print. Message says a component is missing in manage fax etc. Have downloaded and re0instaLLED SEVERAL TIMES AS SUGGESTED BUT STILL WILL NOT DO ANYTHING BUT PRINT AND NOT FAX. tHIS WAS NOT THE PROBLEM IN THE BEGGING. fAX WORKED WELL. hAVE DOWNLOADED DRIVERS AND SYSTEM STAtes they are up to date.

Please follow instructions in this article to fix the problem you're experiencing: Error Message: 'LexmarkCUPSDriver Quit Unexpectedly...', 'LexmarkCUPSDriver Failed...', and 'Color Tables Missing' on the Mac OS X v10.6.x.

The Lexmark Fax Solutions software can be installed using the installation disc that came with your printer. Please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.

You can actually scan directly to an application(ex. MS Word application). Also, make sure the Lexmark OCR scan software is installed on your computer (the software is available on the install disc that came with your printer).
1. Load an original document into the ADF or on the scanner glass. 2. Press Scan Mode. 3. Press ? or ? repeatedly until the MS Word application is highlighted. 4. Press check button. 5. Press Start Color or Start Black to start scanning.

seems to be a problem of OS.

go to applications, utilities, and open terminal in the window, paste this: open /Library/Printers/Lexmark/Drivers/.Resources/ It will open the folder where the missing component should be. You will find the "2600 Series Color 1.lut" file. Duplicate it and change the name to 2600 Series Color 2.lut close the folder, and shoot a print, it should work.

get thedriver bundle form the lexmark website for your printer,that will reinstall the missing kext

On the devise manager window click on

On the devise manager window click on the + sign before display adaptor ...check if there is any

yellow exclamation or question mark ...right click update driver

Let me know if there is any Flag in the Device manger entries.

There are sensors in the document feeder that detect the width and length of the paper being copied or faxed. Try getting a can of compressed air and go nuts blowing all the dust out of the feeder, if you spray everything you can get to, you will probably blow clean the sensors. Just an educated guess.
