Go to Program Files > SoundMAX > Control Panel then to Listening Experience and enable the Sonic Focus. Experiment with the levels. I use Windows7 pre-installed onto my laptop. An alternative is to use other software to boost your sound levels.

I suspect that your heat fan is not working or it is slowing down due to drag or gunk. The processor counts on this fan along with an engineered heat pipe path to wick off the excess heat due to the operation of your CPU. You may want to try vacuuming the heat slots on the bottom and sides of the machine to draw out dust and debris, but it may require disassembly of the machine and another fan to cure the problem. It also could mean that the heat build up by your lap covering the exhaust vents is causing your problem. In that case a lap cooler that consist of two usb fans in a plastic housing that the lap top sits on could be purchased. If this is no, then a piece of stiff thick cardboard could be used as a try out.

Remove the battery, Plug in the AC charger. Push and hold the Power on button for 45secs. If this doens't reset. The fault is most likely the System/Motherboard. If the unit is under warranty, contact HP and arrange a repair.

Convert to Basic and Dynamic Disks in Windows XP

Windows XP Professional supports two types of disk storage: basic and dynamic. Basic disk storage uses partition-oriented disks. A basic disk contains basic volumes (primary partitions, extended partitions, and logical drives).

Dynamic disk storage uses volume-oriented disks, and includes features that basic disks do not, such as the ability to create volumes that span multiple disks (spanned and striped volumes).

General Notes
Before your change a basic disk to a dynamic disk, note these items:

You must have at least 1 megabyte (MB) of free space on any master boot record (MBR) disk that you want to convert. This space is automatically reserved when the partition or volume is created in Microsoft Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional. However, it may not be available on partitions or volumes that are created in other operating systems.

When you convert to a dynamic disk, the dynamic volumes cannot be changed back to partitions. You must first delete all dynamic volumes on the disk, and then convert the dynamic disk back to a basic disk. If you want to keep you data, you must first back up or move the data to another volume.

After you convert to a dynamic disk, the dynamic volumes cannot be changed back to partitions. You must first delete all dynamic volumes on the disk, and then convert the dynamic disk back to a basic disk. If you want to keep your data, you must first back up or move the data to another volume.

After you convert to a dynamic disk, local access to the dynamic disk is limited to Windows XP Professional and Windows 2000.

If your disk contains multiply installations of Windows XP Professional or Windows 2000, do not convert to a dynamic disk. The conversion operation removes partition entries for all partitions on the disk with the exception of the system and boot volumes for the current operating system.

Dynamic disks are not supported on portable computers or Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition.

Before you change a dynamic disk back to a basic disk, note that all existing volumes must be deleted from the disk before you can convert it back to a basic disk. If you want to keep your data, back up the data, or move your data to another volume.

4) In the left pane, click Disk Management.

NOTE: You must right-click the gray are that contains the disk title on the left side of the Details pane. For example, right-click Disk 0.

6) Select the check box that is next to the disk that you want to convert (if it is not already selected), and the click OK.

7) Click Details if you want to view the list of volumes in the disk.

8) Click Convert.

9) Click Yes when you are prompted to Convert, and the click OK.

Jvc rx 5052 overload when volumes open

Could be....
  1. There's a short in your speaker wiring somewhere
  2. or a blown speaker
  3. or you are recycling the speakers from an old all-in-one system and they're too low Ohms
Check your speakers first. If they are less than 8 Ohms, or there's no label on them which gives the Impedance (in Ohms) then I'll lay money that they aren't suitable for the amp. Stop using them and get some proper 8 Ohm speakers.

Wiring shorts might be only a single strand of copper wire. But it's enough that at higher volumes it conducts enough current between the speaker terminals to trip the amp's protection mode.

Fix the problem. Go through your wiring. Check using a torch. If all looks good then it's a blown speaker.

Remove the speaker wires from the amp. Switch the amp on and turn the volume up full. The amp should stay on. Turn the volume down and switch off.

Now connect ONE speaker only. Try the amp on and volume up again. If it trips out then that's the faulty speaker. Repeat by adding one more speaker each time. When the amp trips, the last speaker added is the culpret.

This detection is for a worm which tries to copy itself to removable drives. It will destroy systems it's used on by infecting all .exe files and changing their icons to the Chinese character HAO.
Upon execution, the worm drops a copy of itself into the Windows System folder:
  • %SysDir%\exloroe.exe
The worm creates the following registry keys to activate itself:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{H9I12RB03-AB-B70-7-11d2-9CBD-0O00FS7AH6-9E2121BHJLK}\: "ïµí³éèöã"

It spreads by dropping files named autorun.inf and xiaohao.exe on removable drives and setting file attributes as hidden.
The worm infects .exe files by overwriting them or corrupting them beyond repair. This changes their icon to Chinese word HAO.
