this is because most new lcd tv's have a poor tuner built in and require a stronger ariel, to pull in the analogue or digital signal. Check that your ariel is freeview capable whether using freview or not, as these ariels are better at pulling in the signal, or do what i have had to do and buy a mains plug in signal booster from Asda for about £6.00, this did the trick, especially if you don't want to replace an ariel costing about £30.00
SOURCE: Doesn;t show itv 1 or channel 4
edit your inputs and make sure itv1 has't been put on skip
your channel 4 could have been automatically deleted if you did an auto program on the channels.
Poke around in the menu and you should be able to tell it to display channel 4
SOURCE: scrambled or bad channel

SOURCE: I have retuned my Panasonic HD TV as per your
both of those channels are in anolog, so on todays tvs they are going to look that way, sorry , something you have to live with if the cable company puts them on a digital channel they will look better but not HD quality
SOURCE: Unable to get BBC 1 and 2 on Digital
There is not a problem with the TV despite it's age this is can be due to your reception of the digital package for BBC. Have you checked through he full listings? sometimes the BBC channel will be at a different number setting because of the transmitter you are receiving. I assume you are using a digital box, you can enter a menu which will give you an indication of the strength & quality of the incoming signal. Do you pick up some of the other BBC channels such as BBC3 or CBBC? It's possible your aerial strength is a bit weak for the digital BBC package & you may need to have that looked at.
