This is because most new lcd tv's have a poor tuner built in and require a stronger ariel, to pull in the analogue or digital signal. Check that your ariel is freeview capable whether using freview or not, as these ariels are better at pulling in the signal, or do what i have had to do and buy a mains plug in signal booster from Asda for about £6.00, this did the trick, especially if you don't want to replace an ariel costing about £30.00

Picture and sound break up on ITV3.

You'll need to tell us what TV, set top box you have for us to help. In the meantime, check your aerial connections to make sure they are secure and try a retune after that. Often, doing a retune without the aerial connected, then a full retune with it connected does the trick; this 'flushes' old channel settings in some equipment. In my area, ITV3 is a bit iffy and I cured my problem by checking all my coax connections up to and including booster and aerial.

I have a Panasonic tv model TH 42PZ80B; a Panasinic Blu-Ray dvd model DMP-BD50; a sky box (not as yet HD) and a Sony video SLV-SE 830G. I have a Satellite dish and a normal TV aerial. In the loft I have a...

You need to try and isolate the piece of equipment which is causing the problem.

You've already tried the aerial lead direct to the TV and this is OK.

Disconnect all scart leads and try the RF on its own.

Try the Aerial lead to video, then video to TV.

Try aerial direct to Sky box, then to TV.

Try just connecting the RF out from the Sky box to the TV (no aerial input), can you tune into a good channel 68 picture from the Sky box.

Then Try the VCR to the Sky box (no aerial input), see if you can tune into the VCR and Sky channel.
Hope that helps.......

try tuning tv in another room, if it works it is then your cable or socket, try the cable next. If it wont tune its a faulty set.

Stopped receiving sky on second tv - does my samsung need a reset

I install a lot of magic eyes etc.

You have checked that the magic eye lights up when it is connected directly into the sky box. So your eye is working correctly.

the next step I would take is with your sky remote in your main room. press SERVICES, 4, 0,1, SELECT go to RF settings and check the rf channel and make sure the power is on. Take a mental note of the channel number.

Now go into the room where the link is feeding. Turn on the TV and go to channel number 6 press your MENU button and then go down to setup. go across to manual install and then down to the channel number type in what you retrieved from you box ie rf channel and then type it in and STORE.

If you go into your main room and just put the normal tv guide on ie blue screen. then check that your getting the sky into the other room. IF you are then great it just needed tuning in. IF not I would remake the coax connectors. as there may be a bit of copper braid touching the centre core. once this is done your sky should be on all you need to do now is put the eye back on. Once you have done this the red light should appear on your magic eye. if not go to your main box and follow the first instructions I gave you and turn the power off on the RF and then save and then go back in and turn it back on and save.

Hope this sorts out your problem

Lost ITV channels and C4

I think you need to get Sky because it will give you 100% coverage of all terrestrial channels. You may need to retune the television otherwise just get sky
