FORGOT TO ADD THIS Ice Maker Is Frozen Up

This ice maker repair is even easier. If your ice maker has frozen up, take the following steps to thaw it out:

1Unplug the refrigerator. Remove the ice bin from the refrigerator and remove any loose ice from the ice maker.

2Find the fill tube. This is awhite rubber-like hose that delivers water to the ice maker. Pull down the small metal clip off the housing that holds the fill tube (though not all ice makers have this clip).

3Warm the hose and surrounding mechanism. To do this, you can train a hair dryer on the ice maker to melt any ice blocking the mechanism. But be very careful (sop up any dripping water with a rag) as electricity and water can present a serious risk of electrical shock. Also, be careful not to melt the plastic parts.

4If you don’t want to use a hair dryer, you can soak the supply tubing with hot water, using a turkey baster and catching the overflow in the empty ice maker bin. In some cases, it may be easier to remove the ice maker than to thaw out the fill tube.

On heat release ice makers You will want to check the heating element within the ice maker for continuity and a visual inspection of the board and conductors for burns and seizing, chared marks.
How to Test the Ice Mold Heater
There are two types of ice makers, those in which all of the parts can be individually replaced and those in which some of the parts are clustered together into a control module. To determine which model you have remove the outer face plate. If there is knob, pull it off first, then pry off the face plate with a small screwdriver. Modular units have holes in the module's face plate for test probes. If you see several holes, each marked with a letter, it is a modular unit. It is easier to work on this type of unit by first removing the entire icemaker from the freezer compartment. The unit is usually mounted to the freezer case by two or more screws. Remove the bottom screws first. While supporting the ice maker, remove the remaining top screws. Unplug the ice maker from the freezer cabinet if you have not already done so. Along the edge nearest the shutoff arm, a pin protrudes through the mounting plate . The arm pin has a spring under the mounting plate. Reduce the tension on the spring by moving the shutoff arm into the "on" position, down, against the ice maker.
Test the heater for resistance using a multitester. Set the multitester to the ohms setting X1. Touch one probe to each of the two terminals (or wires). The reading should be in the range of 60 to 90 ohms. If you get a significantly different reading, such as zero or infinity, then the mold heater is bad and needs to be replaced. Conduct this test with the refrigerator unplugged. Test the mold heater for resistance using a multitester. Set the multitester to the ohms setting X1. Place one probe into the hole labeled "H" and the other probe into the hole labeled "L". The multitester should read in the range of 60 to 90 ohms.
Also be sure to check and test water valve with a meter for continuity and voltage..( a full 120 and nothing less) And a visual inspection for any ice build up or blockage in tubing and flow line. Remember u may get a close circuit reading of continuity however it may still be bad in that it may remain constantly closed and water keeps flowing more than suppose to. Hence chunks of ice build up.

SOURCE: Ice maker freezing up

If it is only the fill tube that is freezing up, or getting full of ice, than your water valve is leaking (letting drops of water thru to your ice maker and filling the icemaker fill tube up and freezing). If this is the case, replace the dual water valve (part # 1071263) located in the back of the refrigerator, just follow the water line from your wall into the refrigerator. Make sure you turn off the water to the refrigerator and also unplug it. The dual water valve is the one that has two water lines, one going to the icemaker and one going to the water dispenser. On this model, I think you only have one water valve. On some you have two, the primary water valve and a secondary water valve (the dual valve). If this is your case, I would highly recommend you replace both. As far as the Refrigerator side freezing things up, I think that is a whole different issue. Please post back.

SOURCE: Ice maker freezing up

The problem is in the water valve.
The water supply line going to the Ref is connected to a water valve. This valve is not shutting off completely which causes water to drip into the ice maker. This dripping will freeze and eventually completely block the fill tube in the freezer.

SOURCE: Ice Maker will not release the frozen ice cubes from tray

The icemaker use an avaporator system with an heatinc coil and a fan to release cubes.

In your case either the heating coil or the fan in the icemaker must be replaced.

parts can be purchased from partselect.com.

LG French Door Refrigerator Error Code 15

My problem was similar to yours and my lg refrigerator model number is: LMXS30776D/02, I followed the steps like you with no luck. I just fixed mine last night and it's a pleasure for me to share with you my experience. As I was trying to figure out what was wrong with my fridge, as I was shaking and lifting the left front door of my fridge I noticed that the error code E: 15 disappear on the display. As we open the door back and forth for normal use,the error E: 15 comes back again. From that,I realized something wrong with the left front door of the fridge. I ordered a new left door, It came in yesterday, I installed it last night and everything works beautifully in my fridge, no more code what so ever. as a result, if you are experiencing the same problem, most likely you need to think replacing the left door of the fridge.
Let me know if this help.
Thank you.

Haier refrigerator hrf-628af6 ice tray stuck cant release from fridge

If the ice tray in your Haier refrigerator is stuck and you're unable to release it from the fridge, there could be a few different issues causing the problem. Here are a few things you can try to fix it:
  1. Check the ice maker arm: Make sure the ice maker arm is not stuck or broken. If it is, it will need to be repaired or replaced.
  2. Check the ice maker mechanism: Make sure the ice maker mechanism is not jammed. If it is, try to unjam it by gently pushing or pulling on the tray.
  3. Check the temperature: Make sure the freezer temperature is cold enough for the ice to freeze. If the temperature is too warm, the ice will not freeze properly and may become stuck in the tray.
  4. Check the water supply: Make sure the water supply to the fridge is turned on and that the water supply valve is not closed or clogged.
  5. Check the water filter: Make sure the water filter is not clogged. If the filter is dirty, replace it with a new one.
  6. Gently try to move the ice tray by pushing or pulling, if it still won't come loose, it may be best to contact the manufacturer or a professional for further assistance.
Please note that some models of the refrigerator have a release lever, check the owner's manual to locate it.

Freezer and icemaker freezes, jams.

I have run into this before and found it very helpful to re-level the refrigerator. By leaning the fridge back toward the wall about an inch helped keep the water and ice in the tray. Remember to remove items that block air flow in the freezer. Remove the ice bin and clean it then start over with the fridge leaning back a little. Hope this helps.

Ice maker was intermittent at best - ice was often just a shell. After two failures to correct we had the ice maker (a Whirlpool - on a Sub Zero - Go figure) replaced. Then the paddle that detects the ice level broke. Next step a new GE.

SAMSUNG RS253BAWW NOT WORKING

the ice maker wont cycle untill the temp of the ice is around 10 degrees so if the freezer is at 15 or 20 due to some other malfunction then you will see the maker full of ice but it wont harvest and make another batch. so you could have a sensor bad, control malfunction, refrigeration issue, compressor, defrost system malfunction(you mentioned ice build up)
