My ice maker freezes up the ejection tongs which stops it from making more ice. Do I need a new ice maker or what? I checked the valves and they all work, and it makes ice fine after I clean the rotating tongs off for a bit until they start to build up ice again and then freeze to a halt.

Re:
Is the ice freezing on the surface of the tongs? You may be pulling in moist air from the outside of the fridge.. check all the door seals to make sure no air is getting in. What is the model number of the unit so I can pull up a diagram?

If your ice cream maker freezes and stops turning after only 20 minutes, there may be a few reasons for this. Here are some things to check:
Freezing temperature: Make sure that the temperature in your freezer is set to the correct temperature (around 0°F or -18°C). If the freezer is too warm, the ice cream maker may not freeze the mixture properly.
Mixture consistency: Make sure that the mixture you are using is not too thick. If the mixture is too thick, the ice cream maker may struggle to turn the mixture and freeze it properly.
Overfilling: Make sure that you are not overfilling the ice cream maker. Overfilling can cause the mixture to overflow and prevent the machine from freezing the mixture properly.
Motor issue: If none of the above solutions work, there may be an issue with the motor of the ice cream maker. In this case, you may need to contact the manufacturer or a professional repair service to diagnose and fix the problem.
As for turning on the furnace and power in your Hitchhiker II trailer, you may need to refer to the owner's manual or contact the manufacturer for specific instructions, as the process may vary depending on the model and year of your trailer.
Check the bin arm spring you will have to disassemble the front of the ice maker to do this and check timer motor could be getting hung up. not a cleaning problem. or replace the complete head.
Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees See if water is in icemaker. Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects. If it ejects theb you need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that attaches to water line out of wall) If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker. If its leaking same part needs replaced. The water valve at the bottom rear of fridge. Thank you for using fixya imufo2 Leo Ponder PLEASE VOTE FOR ME IF THIS WAS HELPFUL

does the water dispenser work OK ? if yes , a try this : pour 3/4 of a cup of water into the ice maker, right into where the ejection fingers are. also , take all of the ice out of the ice bin. then , give the freezer time to freeze the water you have poured into the ice maker and see if the ice maker ejects the ice into the bin. if it does, it might reset itself and refill the unit and work normally.
Good day, Unsnap front plastic cover. There should be a white plastic gear in the center. Inspect closely. If a tooth is stripped out, replace. Simple repair. One screw. Machine must be unplugged to remove. When re-installing there is a front and a back. Make sure the tongs on the gear are faced away from you. The ice maker should be removed, and the ice dumped out while performing the repair to take the stress off the new gear.
If the above is not true, you will have to replace the icemaker.
Get me the model number. Put tap water in ice maker tray and make sure arm is down. Let it freeze. Wait and see if the ice will drop, this should allow water to come into the ice maker for another run. Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze
