On left side of screen all the way up and down around 4 inches has no picture just yellow and red bars. The rest of picture alright just that part of screen

you have a blown circuit on the motherboard of your tv. the only way to fix this is to send it to the manufacturer (hopefully you sent in the warranty). or take it to a tv repair shop.

on the tv remote:
press menu,
external entry is highlight (yellow)
right press on the outer circle
then scroll down to video 4 (satellite entry)
(it could be on video 3 depending of the satellite assignment entry)
when video 4 is highlight (yellow)
right press on the outer circle
on the screen you will see 1080i
if settle on an HD channel
