Water dripping from bottom of freezer causing puddle under veg. drawers. Frige is clean and cooling and freezing. Happening occasionally. 197D3168P002 Is the defrost moisture not draining properly? Can I fix this myself?
Your drain line is frozen. Ice thawed by the heater in the freezer normally drains down a tube into a pan on top of the compressor, where it evaporates from compressor heat. If the drain freezes the water runs into the freezer bottom instead of the tube then into your fridge. To solve this remove everything from your freezer and remove the access panel in the back or bottom depending on your model of fridge. Turn off or unplug the appliance. Upon removing the panel(s). you will likely see that the bottom of the freezer is full of ice. Use a hair dryer or heat gun to thaw ice and remove. In the very back bottom you will uncover the drainhole. I usually use very hot water and a shop vac to thaw the drain hole. When you finally clear it you will hear water running into the pan on top of the compressor. Somethimes it takes a lot of hot water to clear the drain. Hope this helps!
Most likely your freezer drain is block by Ice or something has blocked the drainline downline from freezer. Here are a couple reasons for this. click the links below. Sea Breeze
