The door seal is a very difficult job. there are springs that hold the seal in place and they take a lot of muscle or special tools to replace. I suggest you have someone else do it.

SOURCE: The door seal is torn.

Pay the repair guy, even if it didn't include the part (seal) its cheap at $200. I replaced my door seal, I think the part cost me $36. In order to do the job correctly you need to remove the top, take off the front, remove the counter weight (to get room to work and not bust your knuckles). If you have an older machine the replacement seal is not a direct match. My seal won't allow the door to close completely and i have to lean on it to allow it to lock on start. I have had the seal in for about 4 months and am noticing the door closes better and I only have to lean on it a couple of times.
I replaced my seal because of the mildew problem caused by poor drain hole design. How does your seal get torn?

SOURCE: the door seal is torn at the bottom and leaks water on the floor

take the top off look down where the seal meets on the drum there should be a metal band the goes all the way round the rubber seal .you should see a long screw and bolt holding the band together unscrew the bolt and pull the seal off . the same on the front of the washer good luck

Whirlpool upright freezer is working fine but an alarm is sounding intermittently. It sounds different than the high temperature alarm. Can't find codes. What does it mean?

If your Whirlpool upright freezer is working fine but an intermittent alarm is sounding that is different from the high temperature alarm, it could indicate an issue with the door or the door switch. The alarm is designed to alert you if the door has been left open for an extended period or if the door switch is malfunctioning. Check the door seal to ensure it is tight and the door is closing properly. You can also try cleaning the door switch to see if that resolves the issue. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to contact a professional for further assistance.

How can my back truck door instantly stop working?

You really can't blame them. Perhaps they left the door up for an extended period of time. There are struts filled with a gas charge that hold the heavy door up when opened. Maybe the gas has leaked out, and you will have to replace them. It's a pretty easy job, and they should not be too expensive, if you go to a parts store and not the dealer. Dealer prices are way beyond aftermarket replacements from a parts store.

HAVE A ED5FHEXT REFRIGERATOR MAKES A POPPING NOISE ON BOTTOM OF DOOR EVERY TIME YOU OPEN.

there is a magnetic vinyl covered seal glued all around the door frame to seal the refridgerator from escaping cold. If this seal has come loose, it will adhear to the door frame a little after opening and then be pulled back and make a slapping sound. Check this seal to be sure it is not torn loose.

The door leaks on my whirlpool front load model wfw8300sw03, looks like the door isnt sealing tightly, if I push on the door it stops lealing, any ideas?

you might have a bent door hinge, but most likely you have a worn door boot. its the grey rubber thing that the glass seals to.
try to lift up on the door to get the hinges back into place and if that doesnt work then you might need to replace the door boot.
look at the edge of the boot where the glass hits it. the glass must seal to the rubber and if the rubber is worn or torn then it wont seal.
not an easy piece to replace but it can be done. i wouldnt recommend trying it first as you will find it very tight to get your hands into and the clamps are hard to figure out as well.

Change door seal on wjs 1265w

Hi, Your new door seal will have a double lip seal? If you use a small amount of washing up liquid on the lip of the double seal this will then allow you to ease the door seal on really easy. The spring then goes on the outer part of the seal in the groove to hold it onto the tub. Becareful and make sure you put the door seal on the right way up or you will not be happy with the result! TORN CLOTHES!
Good luck...

Water build up in the bottom of the refridgerator under the fruit and vegtable cripser draws. maytag model #MTB1954ARW

Water build up under the fresh food drawers is usually associated with an air intrusion from the exterior. Warm air intruding into the fresh food compartment creates excess condensation, which eventually accumulates on the bottom.
Some causes are:
1. Internal obstruction, not allowing door(s) to close tightly enough.
2. Deteriorated door seal, (torn, pinched, deformed, misaligned,).
3. Light not turning off when door closed,(faulty door switch, misaligned door, loose hinges allowing door to drop).
Make sure all drawer have nothing obstructing their closure, and door shelves have nothing extending beyond the support bars.
Other less obvious causes may be creating this issue also and are not normally addressable by the novice servicer.

Hope this helps find the cause.
