Hello and thanks in advance for any help you can provide. A few months ago some of the lights stopped working and gradually more lights stopped and now some buttons don't function. We can still manage to hit the "Start" button and the last preset cycle will run but you can't make any changes to the cycles for the dishwasher. This dishwasher was bought back in 2007 and from what I've read it sounds like it could be the "Control Panel" needs to be replaced. Like I said earlier, thanks for any help you can provide. Pete Update: I tried various codes I've seen on the forum and when I press certain buttons all the lights flash on for a few seconds and then it goes from Normal Wash to Quick Rinse and runs for only a short time. How do I do a diagnostic test and how do I understand the results? Also I've seen where some owners have removed the control panel and cleaned the contacts, removed the ribbon and reinstalled it and things started to work properly. Could this also just be an issue like that? Thanks again, Pete

Hey Jim, if your model starts with 665 there was a service flash on this unit concerning your problem. SF-22-715. Dishwasher stops in mid cycle. The control board was redesigned to eliminate this problem. The service flash states that if only one indicator light is blinking it's usually a stuck or shorted keypad. I would check with Sears and see if you are covered under this service flash. Catriver...post back.

try pressing normal wash, then heat dry normal wash then heat dry normal wash then heat dry. do it 3 times
SOURCE: Kitchenaid Dishwasher Control Panel lights - some don't light up
about the only thing to try would be to remove the inner door panel to get to the control bd then you will see a mylar ribbon looks like a fat piece of scotch tape pull up on the plastic connector that holds it in and pull the ribbon out then get a clean pencil eraser and gently clean the ribbon and put it back in dont forget to push the locking tab back down then try it again and let me know

I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.

I suspect for either of these units that the timer control boards are bad.
