I can't get my dishwasher to start

The lights on the control touch panel are flashing on the clean cycle indicator as well as the Rinse Only, Normal Wash and Heated Dry. I can't get them to stop flashing and I can't run the dishwasher. I've tried pressing the 3 second lock /unlock button but that's not doing anything either. How can I get these lights to stop flashing and get my dishwasher to run?

My dishwasher runs then stop, runs then stops and then the lights on the front flash. I have read the instructions that were posted and I want to know when I push the "Normal wash, heat dry" buttons does the door need to be opened because when I do this the dishwasher starts up with the door closed.

We had the same problem (lights blinking/not operational) with our Maytag Dishwasher Model# MDB5100AWW. My husband took out the "pcb assembly" (panel control board) from the door panel. He then lifted the smaller circuit board up and then popped the lower circuit board out of it's plastic holder. At this point, he removed the rubber 9 button cover and cleaned the 18 little wires that this rubber 9 button cover makes contact with. He used an eraser to clean these areas. He reassembled the door panel, plugged in the unit and the lights were still flashing. He pressed the off button twice and the dishwasher was fixed for free. We pocketed the $130 (Canadian dollars) by NOT having to replace the entire "pcb assembly"!!! *NOTE: We were advised to unplug the dishwasher and let it stand for several hours, so as to drain all the electricity out of the circuit panels. Feel free to email me at [email protected] for more info. if anything seems unclear.

I have followed all the recomendations on line but can't get my dishwasher to start and lights to keep from flashing. The Lock symbol with the number "three" in it flashes along with the heated Dry and Santize buttons. When I push the Heated Dry button, the lights flash about five times and then they just stay on. I have unplugged the unit and looked at all the connections after pulling off the front panel. This is a different style than the dishwashers I have seen on line with the same type problem. Can you please help?

    Thanks,

Try shutting off the power for 30 seconds and then push and hold the drain off button for 3 seconds. Problem cleared for me.

I had the same problem with my MDB9750 dishwasher, but followed the directions to clean the 18-pin connector on the circuit board as suggested by SelfHelp3 posting. I used a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. Since I had the hex-head sockets, the total repair took only about 45 minutes. I had to power down the dishwasher at the circuit breaker box since I didn't know how to disconnect the power otherwise.

My Maytag dishwasher model MDB9150 didn't work, then my husband shut the door really hard and it started to work. What could be the problem? Is it not making connections. Also about two years ago the latch on the door does not work really well, I have to use two hands to pull down on the latch to open the door.

Look for the button with the 3 overlapping the Lock Oval. For me, it is the Heated Dry button. Hold that button in for 3 seconds to unlock it. You can also hold it in again for 3 seconds to unlock it.

ALSO THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR WHEN YOU CRACK IT OPEN

Pressing [Normal Wash], [Heated Dry], [Normal Wash], [Heated Dry], [Normal Wash], [Heated Dry], [Drain Off] also cleared the flashing lights on model MDB9150.

Thanks for the tip. It saved me much aggravation.
This troubleshooting solution should have been in the manual in the first place. Boo Maytag!

After you do that though, you have top press OFF (Drain Off) and then the lights will go out!!! PERFECT SAVED ME SOME BUX!

SOURCE: Kenmore 665 dishwasher blinking clean light

you'll need to enter a diagnostic mode, press in this order, hi-temp(sani-rinse)----heated dry--hitemp---heated dry... all lights should light, close door and let cycle for about a min, after press the cancelbutton, you should be good to go, the buttons on your model may read slighty different names, if this "toggle of buttons" does not work, you can remove thelower access panel and htere willl be a tech sheet/trouble shoooter behind the panel, in there it will explain how to enter diag/test mode

Ariston dishwasher LFB 5B010 EX on/off, rinse aid and salt lights are flashing, left washing light orange and green (end) light on without flashing.

It sounds like there may be a problem with your Ariston dishwasher. The flashing lights and the dishwasher's inability to wash could be caused by a number of issues, including a problem with the control panel, a faulty water inlet valve, or a clogged wash pump.
To troubleshoot the issue, you can try the following steps:
  1. Check the control panel for any loose or damaged wires. If you find any loose or damaged wires, try to secure them or repair them as needed.
  2. Check the water inlet valve to make sure it is not clogged or faulty. The water inlet valve controls the flow of water into the dishwasher. If it is clogged or faulty, it could cause the dishwasher to stop working.
  3. Check the wash pump for any blockages. The wash pump is responsible for circulating the water during the wash cycle. If it is clogged, it could prevent the dishwasher from washing properly.

I have filled dishwasher selected temperature and the start light is flashing but nothing happens I think the m/c type is 7197

The Start/Resume light is flashing

This flashing light indicates that your cycle or start-up was interrupted.
Possible causes: The door opened during the cycle, or the power was interrupted.
To resume operation: Make sure the door is closed, and press Start/Resume.

The Clean light is flashing

You should call for service if the Clean light is flashing and the machine is inoperable. It is normal if the Clean light stays on after the cycle is complete. The Clean light is an indication that the dishwasher has been run and that the dishes inside it are clean. Once the door is opened after the cycle is complete, the light will shut off.

The lights are rapidly flashing

Any key that gets stuck will rapidly flash. Press the key a few times in order to release it or press Cancel.

The Rinse Only light is rapidly flashing

If multiple keys are stuck, the Rinse Only light will flash. Press each key, one at a time, to release the stuck keys, or press cancel.

Under cycle setting the quick rinse light keeps flashing and dishwasher does not run.

Hey Jim, if your model starts with 665 there was a service flash on this unit concerning your problem. SF-22-715. Dishwasher stops in mid cycle. The control board was redesigned to eliminate this problem. The service flash states that if only one indicator light is blinking it's usually a stuck or shorted keypad. I would check with Sears and see if you are covered under this service flash. Catriver...post back.
