The router should be configured with your IP address.

Cant use my wireless

If you have a wireless connection to the wireless router is it assigning IP addresses. How many devices do you have connected already? Maybe you have reached a limit and need to assign more IP's. Is your wireless router secure?(use of password) Check and see how many devices are connected to it. You do this from your desktop as long as it is connected to the wireless router via cable. Open web browser type 192.168.1.1 in address bar. Takes you to router login page for your router. Unless you have changed it the username is: ADMIN and the password is: PASSWORD. Once you are logged into the router this is where you can check the settings and see how many devices are connected. You can also add a password here to log onto your network so that no one unauthorized can use it. beyond this it gets pretty in depth. Just remember your wireless router controls your wireless network not the devices connecting to it. there may be a FAQ or help tab associated w your routers login page.

My d link router green lights are flashing contineusly and cant connect with my device.cant connect with my mobile or my computer

Ok, there might be one possibility.

Someone might have hacked your router and banned your devices from connecting. Yes, it can be done especially if you are using WEP to connnect to router.

Hardwire to your router using a cable and log in. See what other devices are connected, you also might want to change the wireless SSID name and password, however, do not use WEP, change it to WPS-PSK which is a lot harder to hack.

I cant log into my planet wireless router wrt-416 (192.168.1.1) i reset my router because i cant remember the username and password it was configured. please can you assist me how to resolve this problem

Hello !
Usually on routers, on the back of the device you should have a "default login". If you do not, USUALLY, the user is either "root" or "admin" and pass "". (blank pass).
Update : I checked out your model and it says the default credentials are:
User : admin
Pass : admin
Hope that helps !
All the best.

Help! I need to set the security log in again. I can log into my laptop and my desktop, because they log in automatically. But my new Kindle needs to log in, and I cannot find the password. Should I...

If you cant find the password or remember it you'll have to do a hard reset on your router.

You can do a hard reset by plugging it in, locating the small hole on the bottom or side with possiblitly the words reset next to it. Insert a pin for about 10-20 seconds and the device should revert to the default settings.

You can then set up a new SSID and password.

A tip to help me remember is to write the password down and tape it to the bottom of my wifi router.

Enjoy your Kindle.

Lost my netgear connection. i have two new laptops i was trying to hook up. called tech. support w/HP they told me to plug the router into my lap top and i cant use netgear now. can u help

  1. Log in to your NETGEAR router by browsing to http://www.routerlogin.net or http://www.routerlogin.com. Enter the username (admin) and password. By default, the password is password or 1234 unless it has already been changed.
  2. From the left-hand navigation menu of the Router Manager, select Set Up > Wireless Settings.

3. From the center screen, select your encryption type from under the Security Options heading.

    • If the wireless network passphrase is visible, review it and use it to log devices onto your network.
    • If it is not visible, you can change your wireless passphrase; however, changing the passphrase will cause you to lose your wireless connection. Connect your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable before entering a new passphrase into the text box and clicking Apply.
If you cannot log into your router:

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings.

I have a belkin N F5D8233-4v3 router with the latest software and I recently bought a black armor NAS 110 network storage and the NAS 110 cant pull an ip from the router when it is connected.

log on to the NAS device and see if it has a static IP embedded. If this doesnt help, try to replace the cable that connects the router and the NAS device. That could help
Thanks

How do I find out what the key is for my netgear router?

You have two methods of finding or restoring this key.

1: log into the device. If you have a PC already working through this device, go to that pc, click on Start then RUN. Tpe CMD and hit enter. this will opena black window. type ipconfig. you should see an entry for the Gateway IP address. this should be the IP address of that router. Now open Internet explorer and enter the ip in the address field (not a search filed). hit enter and see if you end up with a menu. if so, you will be able to navigate to the wireless security and adjust or find that security key. If prompted for a password, you are in trouble. You'll then need to do option 2.

2: If you cant get intot the device configuration as described above, you can reset the unit to factory defaults( usually clearling the key altogether). This can be done by presssing the reset button for about 10 seconds (small pin or paperclip actuated button on the device.

Since you did not specify the model, I cant previide more details.
