SOURCE: DVD tray WONT OPEN

unplug it and try it again, if that doesn't work see if theres a pin hole where you can push a paper clip in by the tray area.

SOURCE: DVD tray will not open

I had the same problem - unplug first- it is easy to undo all 6 small screws - open it up -plug in and then you can give it a little help to open it. It worked for me, BUT now it will open and close but not play the dvd.

SOURCE: DVD disc tray will not open

Without knowing the model for the unit, it makes it a little difficult to troubleshoot, but usually the easiest way to get one of these to open up is to try resetting them. This is done on MOST DVD players by unplugging them for about 30 seconds while you hold the power button down to discharge any power that might be held in the unit, then plugging the unit back in and trying to eject it again. Keep in mind, that if the unit was moved (or even if something caused the unit to shift, like a person jumping near it) then the problem could be the dvd has become dislodged from the tray. Many dvd players will have a small hole on the front (usually below the tray) where if you insert a paper clip in about a half inch, will eject the tray part way, and then you can gently pull it out the rest of the way (making sure you do not keep pulling if you feel resistence as the dvd might have skipped out of the tray track). IF worse comes to worse and you don't have a warrenty on the unit, many dvd players can be opened by removing 1-2 screws from the left and right sides, and possibly 1-4 screws from the back of the unit (look around the edges, the screws near the ports on the back usually holds those ports in place and do not need to be removed to take the case off). Once the screws are removed you would pull back and up on the case to open the dvd player. Keep in mind, this voids a MFG warranty. Once the case is off you should be able to see the dvd and remove it unless you have a cheap dvd player which has an enclosed drive. Remove the dvd and with the case still off, plug the power in (DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING INSIDE WHILE THE POWER IS PLUGGED IN) and try hitting the eject button on the front. IF it ejects now, you should be good to go, just put the case back on. IF it doesn't eject, then your motor is probably bad (or something is blocking the track) and it is usually safer/easier at this point to just go buy a new dvd drive.

SOURCE: Toshiba SD-6000 dvd player tray will not open.

The tray is blocked or the drive motor is stucked. Unplug and open the player's casing and check for any obstructions and remove it. It might be a disc or something. Check the motor if it's trying to spin. if not, disconnect it and connect it to a 12-volt supply or lower. If it spins then there's a problem with it's supply. Otherwise the motor should be replaced.

The tray on DVD won't open when pressing OPEN button DVD/CD is inside

Often the tray is powered by a rubber belt. If the latter breaks or slips the try will not open/close. The motor will work and tell the electronics that all is well because it has done its job but it really hasn't since the tray is inert!

unplugged the dvd player and then re plugged, power on then press the eject button. if still the loading tray won't open, at this time you will need to remove the cover of the player to access the loading tray mechanical assembly. then check for an stuck up or broken rail plastic loading assembly it was installed drive by the loading motor.if ok, check the limit switch might not get contact which the processor not turn on the supply for the motor.

CD cannot load, will not eject, had to wind down transport manually to get CD out

see this steps and fix it. God bless you
Service a DVD player disc tray:
  1. Open the housing by removing mounting screws and anything blocking the tray. Press the open/close control to the extend tray, then unplug the unit. To remove a clip-on tray front, brace the tray and slide the panel to one side.
  2. Unplug cables between the front panel and the interior. Remove any screws securing the front panel and remove the panel. If it won't move, check beneath it for clips or additional screws.
  3. Remove the hold-down on top of the disc tray and gently pull the tray out of the player. Clean the travel rail and guides with a swab dampened with denatured alcohol. Lubricate lightly with white lithium grease.
  4. Remove the drive belt (using gloves or tweezers) to inspect for dirt, water, or damage. Clean with a lint-free cloth moistened with denatured alcohol. If the belt is damaged, replace it.

Tray won't open

by just resetting the software will not work this is a mechanical problem this usually happens on players that is not use for a long time or improper closing of tray..fixing this kind of problem requires opening the cover of the unit..you need to lubricate all moving gears and parts by putting enough amount of lubricating oil..you have also need to assist the motor manually by helping it to push the tray out just gently pull the tray with your hands during a eject command on the unit clean also the limit switches of the tray make that contact are properly working..good luck!

My disc tray won't open the lights turn on and work but the disc tray just won't open. How can I fix this?

hi,
You have to check two things.
1. You have to check the tray loading belt in the mechanism. To see the same you should remove the mechanism.because the loading belt is beneath the cd tray. As it is cyberhome it will be very difficult to remove the mechanism for an user. if your capable for doing the same then make try. Because you have to remove the top cover then the back panel, then the mechanism. Take care the mother board is attached to the mechanism.

2. You have to check the cyberhome dvd player will show this type of complaint if the Spindle motor is faulty (oppen or short ). Spindle motor is one on which the cd rotates. It will not cost a lot.
