This can happen, as you probably know, when driving in areas of tall buildings - I have an extension aerial that sits on rthe car roof.

BUT BUT BUT.. these Magellan units are so poor compared to Tomtom and Magellan Support is RUBBISH!!!!!

I am at last binning my Roadmate 700 and am getting a Tomtom Go series which auto updates every time it's put on its cradle attached to my PC/internet.

My nuvi 260w will lose satellite connection, will tell me maps not found, or will have the car icon all over the map while driving. what's up?

If you have a sim card installed make sure it is fully seated. Also make sure you have a clear sky view for the unit. Had this happen with my Nuvi50. Had it sitting in a position below the dash and it would be very erratic. Placed the unit on the windshield and it worked as it should.

Compaq v2000 presario continually reboots and shows blue screen then reboots over and over

Your windows file may be corrupt. You will probably have to re download your installation disk that was given to you when you purchased your computer. This should solve the problem. Make sure you get someone to back up your data. before re installing the operating system. Hope this helps.

My garmin 1300 went completly dead while on a route with the power cord attached. unpluged tried again . now its working. is this normal?

A Garmin Nuvi 1300 that won't start, freezes, or is acting erratically is symptomatic of having corrupt firmware.

To correct this, I recommend backing up your favorites, clearing all user data, and if it still is stuck, then updating your Nuvi firmware.

Follow these three steps to take to get your Garmin Nuvi 1300 running like new:

  1. Back up your Favorites.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset.
  3. Download and then run Garmin WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

I hope that helps.

Watch erratic. Slows suddenly between days of working well.

Sounds like a failing battery to me. Its very common for a watch to loose time when battery needs to be changed.

Toshiba satellite pro l40 boot up problem

If you run a repair with the recovery disc you won't lose any info. The only time you'll lose the info is if you run a complete reload. Run the system disc until it gets to the point of finding installed operating systems, at this point instead of deleting the partition, press R and it will reinstall the operating system files only leaving other installed files and programs intact. Keep in mind that many times when this happens, it's a hard drive failure. If it is a hard drive failure, then you will have to replace the hard drive and you will lose the info, sorry.
