Whirlpool trouble shooting

All Spin cycles regardless of load or even when unloaded and spinning?
If so suspension is broken.........Technician repair only, even the balance weights in the tub are too heavy for DIY to remove and replace springs

My Whirlpool GHW9250MW1 knocks very bad especially on the final spin cycle. Do I just need to get a new washer?

Before junking your washer, remove the rear panel and be sure the large pulley is tight. If it is, the spinner support is likely broken on the tub assembly. That repair is major and very expensive. Check the pulley with fingers crossed....

Duet Washer rattles and knocks when spinning

you either have a broken shock or the spider gear is gone,take off the bottom panel and check out the shocks,if it's the spider gear it's time for new washer,it's around 500 bucks for new gear,to much detergent used over the years eats at the metal

Whirlpool Duet WFW9200SQ has knocking sound located under drum under or near motor. Knocks during spin up and down cycle and on last highest spin.

the problem is a cracked spindle on the back of the drum. It most likely also tore up the grey plastic front shield.The only thing to do is throw the machine out sine the drum cost parts onle is over $400 for drum, and over $400 for the front plastic.l

Machine knocks and walks when spinning a small load

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
-----------------------
The problem is the brake. The odd time what happens is moisture gets on thebrake rotor and the squealing is heard when the brake stator is applied to stop the tub from spinning. This moisture, may drip down from the tub onto the brake rotor which could indicate a leaky tub seal. If you can't see any dripping when you fill the tub with water, don't worry about the tub seal. Many times than not the brake is just going sour on it's own.
Sometimes you can fix the squealing by cleaning the rotor and stator with a light sandpaper, such as emery/sand cloth. If that doesn't work you will need to replace the brake stator and rotor. If you need to replace them replace both parts together, don't just change the stator without also replacing the rotor, or vice versa. And here's a bonus tip: the brake spring exerts 200 pounds of force. If you try to remove the six 5/16" screws without using this brake removal tool, serious injury can/could happen!! The splined part in the middle of the brake needs to be greased really good before putting the brake back on!

At the end of each spin cycle it knocks loudly

A Clothes Washer with the complaint of "excessive noise & sssshaking" can typically be a couple of things;

Un-level Washer (Very Likely) - I would level and adjust your legs on your washer appropriately. Make sure when your slighly "push test" your washer, you have no machine movement, rocking or tilting. When the machine is going into the final rinse/spin cycle, the tub can rotate fast and if the washer legs or even the floor is slightly un-level, this can result in your washer to become noisey, shake, etc and can further cause the unit to break-down and no longer spin.

Un-balanced Load (Likely) - Ensure you are loading the washer and distributing the clothes (weight) evenly as this may cause the tub to spin improperly at final spin cycle.

Broken Drum Support/Springs (Likely) - Can be 5" black supports located at inside - top of tub area. Also, springs can also be located at inside bottom rear of machine holding the tub to the rear panel.
