I'm trying to get my WEP address from my router. Since i've forgotten the username/password for the router, I've followed the instructions for resetting the router, but when I go to http://192.168.0.1 and enter Username:admin and leave the password blank as it says to do, it won't accept it. Thanks for any help.
Access the management page from your browser. (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Etc.)
The address is: 192.168.1.1
The default password is admin, leave the username blank
Click on the "Wireless " link
Then click on "Security"
You will see your WEP key there.
If you have forgotten your router passsword, you will need to reset the router. Linksys reset The easiest method of resetting your Linksys router's password is to reset your router back to the default factory settings. This is done by simply holding down the reset button located on the back of the unit for at least 30 seconds. Once the router has been reset, it must be reconfigured. Using your web browser go to URL address http://192.168.1.1. You will then be prompted to login to your router. A log-in screen asking for the password will automatically appear. At this time enter the default password "admin", in lower case letters into the password field. The username field may be left blank at this time. (Note: both the default username and default password are set to "admin" on some of the newer Linksys router models). If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response Thanks, Joe

I tried to leave the username blank and put admin in password box, but this didn't work either. Once I hit enter it simply brings the same box back up. thanks
Yes, my laptop is physically connected/plugged in to the router via cable. I hope this is what you mean. If not, please forgive my ignorance and explain further. Thanks again for the help!
To connect to the wireless setup utility you have to be connected to the router with a ethernet cable, cannot be done with a wireless connection.
Are you connecting through a ethernet cable to the router? it can not be done wirelessly.
