D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G DI-624 Wireless Router Questions & Answers
How do i get the
Dlink.com and look up you device on their support page.
Usually you can login on your browser to you router and go to the management section to check for firmware updates and select that button and it will download and install the firmware. On some models, you have to go to the D-link web site and look for firmware updates for your router. Always check what you current firmware you have installed and check the version of your router modem hardware (A, B, C etc). Then you can manually download the firmware (usually in a ZIP file), open the zip file, and then using your browser connected to the router look for Update Firmware. You will have to go to where (folder) you saved the downloaded update and select that file. It is recommended that you update using a LAN connection and not a wireless connection.

Your wireless password or the device password?
If you wireless password, you should be able to login into your router using your browser and look under wireless section and see the password.
If the device password, you will have to do a factory reset. You can do this by locating a small hole usually on the back side of the router. With the power on, use a pencil/pen tip or paperclip and onset it into the hole for about 10 seconds and this should reset your router to its factory settings.

I cannot get the wireless router to work. my
You can reset the router to factory default settings, press the reset button at the back of the router.
Please
note that after RESETTING THE ROUTER to defaults, ALL SETTINGS WILL BE
LOST AND YOU HAVE TO RECONFIGURE IT. Generally, after hard reset you
get the connectivity, however, you have to make the connection secure
etc.
Reset the router to factory default setting, press and hold the
reset button for few seconds (It is at the back of the router near the DC Power Jack). The LEDs will then blink and the routers factory settings would be restored.
Please note that, after resetting the router you should be able to see
the router and connect to it via LAN Cable or Wirelessly as the router
automatic assigns the IP Address and gateway etc. Before proceeding to
the next step please make sure that you are getting the signals as well
as internet. However, the internet connection would not be secure, which
can be done later.
Now, all
you have to do is connect to the router and secure
the connection follow the following steps: -
First
you have to access the router through web browser (Internet Explorer)
by typing the IP address of your router in the address bar, which is
192.168.0.1 (Default router settings are written under the router) (unless you've configured otherwise, the default username is admin and the password "leave it blank") and lookup for the options to do the
following: -
1. Change the SSID (Name) of the router
2. Change the default administrative user name and password
(The above step would prevent unauthorized access to your router)
Next step is to secure it:
1.On the left-hand side, under Setup, click "Wireless Setup"
2.Under "Wireless Security Mode", select your desired encryption method (preferably WPA2-PSK)
3.Choose a Network Key - it can be anything, as long as it's 8-63 characters in length
4. Click Save Settings.
Now your router and your connection would become secure and the user has to provide the network key to access the internet.
Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.
Hope it helps! Good Luck!
Don't forget to convey your feedback and approciate the efforts.

If you have a security suite, you may need to permit access thru the firewall to the IP addy assigned to the printer.
Also as a diagnostic measure, I would connect a USB cable to the printer to make sure the drivers are correct on the printer.
After those steps were accomplished, I would check my router's log to see if the printer registered with it.
good luck and don't forget to vote!!!

The modem wire should connect to the internet port on the router, the other 4 ports are for your computers.

If you connect the computer to the router , it
works.
That means the wired connection is OK.
Open the set up page of the router on the wired computer. check the
wireless settings of the router. make sure that the SSID broadcast is enabled. If it is enabled then try to change the wireless channel.
If that also doesn't work then try to upgrade the firmware of the router.
