If you have replaced the spring is the tub over to one side not in the center of the hole there is what they call a snumber ring on the bottom of the base the washer sets on that could be wore out but it is really hard to replace and you will need a special tool to compress the break

I have a Maytag Ensignia model MAV2757 AWW. The washer basket doesn't balance, even with a small load, and turns off due to the weight being unbalanced. The springs are there and oiled, the hardware...

Snubber ring that tub and spin basket assembly sits in is most likely worn. Very inexpensive part but extensive labor involved. I would suggest calling a competent service tech.

How to replace timer knob on Maytag PAV 2300 aww, old one snapped off leaving just the stem

This is from another site but does a good job of explaining how to change your timer:
http://www.the-appliance-clinic.com/myttimer.html
The hardest part will be swapping the knob because you have to lift the top of it off and sometimes they can be fiesty.
WORDS OF CAUTION.

DO NOT pull all the wires off of the OLD timer. DO a ONE for ONE wire swap. i.e pull one wire from the old timer... and hook it up to the new one on the exact same terminal as the old timer.

The Maytag PAV 2300 does not spin right if the load is slightly off balance. It bangs on the side and ordinarily lists to the right. On inspection, the washer is on level.

The list to the right should be resolved. Use a level and level the case left and right, and front to back. The final step is to tilt the machine fully on to the front legs, releasing the self leveling rear legs, and set the machine back down. It should be stable on the 4 feet.

usually this will center the drum and it is more forgiving on balance issues, most of which are common. Be sure to use MORE than enough water for more even loads.

I HAVE A 6 YR. OLD MAYTAG PERFORMA PAV 2300 TOP LOADING WASHER. UNIT WORKS FINE EXCEPT FOR LOUD CLUNKING NOISE AFTER SPIN CYCLE. NOTE - ALL BRAKE COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED.

It sounds like a spn down noise. I would check to see if the brake spring was changed when the brake and stator was. They had some problems with weak springs.

Maytag PAV2300 AWW nevre agitates and only spins once.

Ive never seen a Maytag washer, but I think know the principle. So! I think the motor turns in one direction to wash & the opposite direction to spin. Now, if the transmission is very stiff in the 'wash mode', that could be why its not washing. The motor could be overheating & the thermal trip in the motor cutting off the electricity supply hence having to wait 45 mins for it to cool.
Not too sure! However I think I am on the right track. Let me know please
