Am considering purchasing a new printer - the Canon ip4600 and was wondering if anyone has had problems with this model.

issue with registry uninstall the driver remove the entries from registry . reboot the system try again

No, please give me more details on your computer and operating system. If the computer is rebooting it's probably incompatibility in the software

what do you mean by reset? you mean resetting the device to it's factory settings or resetting it to recognize the refilled cartridge? if it's second one it can be a problem, because as far as i know the new line models (such as 4600) has different chip inside the ink cartridge and because of that fact there's still no resetter for the new models. you can try holding the resume button for a few seconds after inserting the cartridge but i doubt it will do the work. i will ask my friend 2moro and will report back

No I haven't fix the problem. However I've been doing all the cleaning,cleaning and more cleaning. I finally gave myself a x'mas present. I bought a new printhead for the S530D. It's working perfectly now. I was tossing whether to get a new IP4600 or a new head, finally decided on the latter. Simply I can't get after market cartridges for the IP4600. The cartridges for the IP were way too expensive at this moment and not knowing whether the claims for the print numbers are accurate. Perhaps readers may be able to collaborate the claims for the IP4600 or IP4500.
