Fully extend, or extend at all?

For the wand to properly travel, it needs to be regularly cleaned. From the User Manual:
<< When the nozzle does not come out: Check to see if the skin sensor is touching skin (hint: unit will beep when skin is recognized).

Wand will not pull out

Hi Colin, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC27's wand should release from the machine easily, and disengage from the body of the machine when it's fully extended. If it seems to be jammed in place, it's possible there's a blockage within the hose which is preventing it from extending.

To resolve this, open the clear U-bend and check for any obstructions.

This should help, but if you continue to have difficulty you're welcome to get in touch with the Dyson Customer Helpline for further assistance from our experts. We can help you check if the mechanism for the wand is damaged - and if a replacement part is needed, we can confirm whether your machine is covered under the Dyson warranty.

You can reach the Dyson Customer Helpline by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

The telescoping wand on my Dyson DC 25 will not retract back into the hose.

Hi Nina, it's Jack at Dyson.

Difficulty collapsing the wand can mean that the plastic handgrip section hasn't been correctly placed on the machine. When you replace the wand on the machine, make sure the handgrip section clips onto the main body and is down as far as it will go.

It's also a good idea to make sure that the hose isn't twisted, as a twisted hose can create resistance as you try to collapse the wand. Remove the wand again and allow the hose to untwist itself fully before attempting to replace the wand on the machine.

I'm confident these steps should resolve the issue, but if you would like some further guidance after you've given this a try, please give us a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Dyson dc25 handle stuck at top of wand wont relaese

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

A jammed DC25 wand may mean that the hose was twisted when the wand was last replaced on the machine. This can prevent the wand from extending or retracting fully. The video I've attached shows you the simplest way to resolve this.

If you would like any further advice from our experts, you can reach the Dyson Customer Helpline by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).

Dyson DC11 wand does not lock in place when extended for use, very frustrating!

Hi Susan, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your DC11's wand. It's important to make sure each section is extended fully - you should here the clips 'click' as they lock. If it doesn't seem to do this, it's worth checking to make sure none of the clips have been damaged in any way. If you can see damage, it may be necessary to replace the wand - you can order spares directly from www.dyson.com

If you'd like some further help with this, you can reach our experts directly by calling the Dyson customer Helpline. Our numbers are 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).

Best wishes,

The handle attachment will not fully extend anymore. It will only extend about half way before it sticks. It feels as if it is binding somewhere in the hose along the handle.

Hi there, Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC25. From what you've described, it sounds as if the hose may have been twisted the last time you replaced the wand on the cleaner. If you have any further questions about using or maintaining your Dyson cleaner, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you, and recommend the best course of action. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). Wand in stowaway dyson is hard to extend. Seems like u have to pull 3 clips from grooves in 3 rings around wand to extend and shorten wand which is a struggle

Hi there, you should just be able to hold the telescopic wand in one hand, press the button and pull the whole length of the wand out to its fullest position.

If the telescopic wand on your particular Dyosn is very stiff, you may need a replacement.

Your machine may still be under guarantee or warranty. If this is the case, please contact Dyson directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards

Water leaking from steam wand when brewing shots

Try this from another post. It should help.

The steam wand began to seriously leak but a call to Starbucks Customer Service line and I was talked through how to adjust it so that the leaking stopped. It requires taking off the top/back panel of the machine (6 philips screws) then using a small allen key (1.5 mm I believe) to loosen and adjust a plastic oblong donut-shaped thing (a "cam" actually) on the shaft of the steam knob... no more drips.
The key to prevent dripping is to open the steam knob without putting pressure on it when it gets to the full-open stop position. Cranking it too hard when it comes to a stop in the full-open position will slowly move the cam out of position. Then the shaft doesn't fully seat inside the machine anymore and won't fully shut off the water to the steam wand. Then, no matter how hard you crank the knob in the shut-off position it will still drip. The purpose of the cam is to stop the knob from complete unscrewing and it also turns the pump on and off for the steam wand. The cam adjustment is very small but completely solves the dripping problem. Seeing inside the machine made me realize how easy it would be to repair problems as long as I can get the parts from Starbucks or perhaps Saeco.

HI,
FIRSTLY DETACH WAND FROM UNIT AND SLIDE HOSE DOWN AS FAR AS IT GOES, SPRAY A LITTLE WD40 OVER WAND AND SLIDE HOSE UP AND DOWN, AS FOR THE CAP, TAKE A PAIR OF PLIARS, GRAB HOLD OF END OF CAP AND PULL CAP FULLY OUT OF THE HANDLE,AT THIS POINT CHECK THE SPRING OR REMOVE THE SPRING IF YOU PREFER AND PUSH THE CAP BACK INTO HANDLE AND THAT WILL DO IT FOR YOU.
