I will assume you are talking about the CD/DVD drive drawer.

Get a large paper clip. unbend it part way and use the straight end to push the drawer out using the little hole located on the front of your drive.

You may have a stuck disk in the drive.

I would. Considering how cheap they are nowadays, you'd probably be much better off just replacing it.

Anytime my drives do anything odd, I just get a new one. Sounds silly, but it saves a lot of time and problems.

I like the LiteOn drives. They're inexpensive and they work.

I have five discs in there. The drawer won't open. I can hear whirring noise.

You can try unplugging the unit and waiting a few minutes and then replug and reboot the player. If it still does not work you might want to check the eject mechanism for operation. Maybe a blet slipped off a pulley?

Why Bottom freezer drawer wont stay open

Freezer and refrigerator doors aren't usually supposed to stay open. The units are usually installed so that they're slightly tilted to the back to make sure gravity will close the doors if you forget to. If you are SURE - I mean really SURE - that you want your freezer to stay open you should check the drawer rails to see if they're adjustable; if they are, trying raising the back of the rails (or lowering the front). If the rails are not adjustable, try adjusting the front feet of your fridge so that the front of the whole unit is just a tiny bit lower than it is now. Don't lower it too much! If you do, the doors won't stay closed; they'll leak cold air and you'll lose food.

CD-ROM drawer deos not open

There could be a hardware issue or something stuck in there.

In front of the CD drive you will see a pin hole as shown in the image below.

shreysri_5.jpg
Insert a pin in the hole and and press it. The tray will come a little ahead, you can pull it out. See if there is something getting stuck or any cd inside it. Close it and try to open it with the button. If it wont work it is a hardware issue and need a replacement or repair.

Note: You can take out the tray with the help of the pin, even if the PC is turned off.

Lite on drive drawer is sticking. wont open

Sounds as if you may have a disk in there that's lodged between the tray and the inner mechnism. Use the release pinhole, and a small screwdriver or butter knife to pry open the tray, gently. You'll feel it releasing when you insert a straightened paperclip or other small object.

As I was powering up my laptop I opened the cd drawer placed a disk in it. Now it won't close. Tried rebooting, hitting the tab and closing, control panel open drawer, nothing seems to work ????

If the door has shut then look at the facia of the dvd panel and there should be a small hole in it

Get a strong paperclip and push it into the hole, that will eject the drawer

If you have jammed it in real tight get someone else to push the paperclip in the hole while you carefully use two blunt knives to lever on the sides of the drawer

Worse case scenario is that you have to take out the two screws on the base of the laptop and remove the drive altogether to gain access

Everything on my microwave works except it stopped heating food

I found this on another blog and it worked for me.

Model #KB6024MK, this is a Sharp microwave drawer that would open and close properly, but when started would not heat. These drawer units will sometimes close properly, but not enough to actuate the interlock switches to power the magnetron. A quick test is to turn the unit on and press in on the drawer handle while it is running. If you start hearing the low hum of the magnetron, the interlock assembly is out of adjustment. Removed the left side panel and gained access to the switch mounts to do a quick adjustment so when the drawer closes, the switches close properly to allow operation. It may take more than one adjustment to make it work properly so test it several times before reinstalling the side panel. It should work properly when the drawer auto closes and should not require any manual manipulation from the user.
