How do I print ONLY in black and white? I can't seem to find the properties in the printer dialog box. Help! Thank you, Kim

You need to find the Color Options Features Tab; choose greyscale or Black Only.

Follow these steps to change the print settings for a single print job in Windows 7.

1.Open the document that you want to print. Click File , and then click Print . The Print window opens.

2.Click the button that opens the Properties dialog box. Depending on the software program, the button might be Properties , Options , Printer setup , Printer , or Preferences .

3.In the Properties dialog box, select the print properties for the current print job, and then click OK .

Follow these steps to change the default print settings for all print jobs.

1.On the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon, and then click Devices and printers .

2.Right-click the printer icon for your product, and then click Printing preferences .

3.Select your new default print settings, and then click OK .

Problems with greyscale printing as colour on the Canon CLC3220

From whatever software you are printing, you will need to select the properties or features. In Pagemaker, it was features, but most other programs I now see it under properties for the 3220 on the print screen. You will need to find where it gives you the options for color. They should be color, greyscale or black & white. The default is generally color. Generally the 3220 will know if it is not a color document and print the black and white as a greyscale, but sometimes you have to force it.

If you are printing crop marks and color bars, then your document is recognized as color even though it may not be.

Finally, some programs use a black that is actuall 100% of CMY & K. If you are using InDesign and select registration as your black, instead of the plain black, then you document is recognized as color.
The same holds true if you select a pantone grey which is created from several colors. So also make sure that your document is truly greyscale and or that you tell the copier to print in greyscale.

Print in black ink only

I know you can print in Greyscale which prints in black and white only. On your Windows computer, you should just be able to click Start -> Printers and Faxes, then right-click your printer and choose Printing Preferences. Look for a tab that says Color and click it. There should be a selection, probably a check box, that lets you choose "Print in Greyscale". Afterwards, when you print, even color documents will print in black-and-white only.

Greyscale Printing

Go into Printers, Properties, Printing Preferences, then Black Ink Only. If you make that the default, it will automatically print black ink with you click on the printer in the toolbar. If you want to print one document in color, click on File, Print, Properties, and set it for color for that one job only. The default of Black Ink should stay the same.

Dell Photo All in One Printer 964

Try printing a windows test page from the driver software, START-SETTINGS_PRINTERS-DELL964- properties,,etc. If the test page prints with color then I believe that your driver is set to print in greyscale. If you can't find that option in the driver you might try to re-install the driver from your original cd.
