If using XP should not need software. The cam is seen as an external disk drive when coupled to the usb port.
Go to the "new" disk drive , open...and drag and drop in the usual way.

I need the drivers for my HanShing Cam 5.5 so if anyone have please let me know or tell me were i can get them on line for free. Thank you all.

the format of the card may not be recognised because either the terminals are in need of cleaning or the card needs to be formatted, this option should be in the camera settings or you can format it in a pc card reader.

If your computer is Win ME/2000/XP/Vista The CD is not needed to upload images Windows will do it all by its self. Editing modestly by downloading free Picasa

i just bought the same camera and it wouldn't work with the cd either. i had to make sure that on the camera it was set to "pc" and that "mass storage" was selected before plugging the camera into my pc. hope this helps.

Try reseting to manufacturing settings and then suppose it will work ok. (don't forget this will erase any setting you made so make amark of it).
