Question about Cameras
I love my Bose Soundlink Mini 2. But, I faced a few issues sometimes.
Speaker not turning ONSpeaker not charging with the battery LED blinking.Speaker not getting connected to the bluetooth devices.
But all were fixed by reading through the Manual a bit. To help others, I actually made a video, to show some troubleshooting tips for the Bose Soundlink Mini 2. Checkout the video, if your speaker is not turning ON / not charging / bluetooth not getting connected:
This seems like a very common issue for the soundlink mini 2. This is due to a firmware bug. Gets foxed with a hard reset.Check the video for details and other trouble shooting tips.

M? experience is this, after not using the bose soundlink mini 2 for a while I tried to charge it up. The battery light would fade orange and the connected/disconnected sound would chime. After a few seconds the light turned red and the sound would chime again then all the lights would shut off. No matter how long I left it plugged in like this it wouldn't take a charge. When I would try to turn it on it would say "battery 10%" and promptly die. After reading a few comments here and doing a little research I learned that the charge cycle is regulated by the operating system (instead of a dedicated charging circuit). If the battery is too dead it can't power on long enough for the operating system to kick in and charge. The solution is to plug it into USB for a few seconds and unplug it before it dies again. Do this a few times. This will force a small charge each time into the battery, enough that it will run the operating system long enough to initiate a charge cycle. I have revived mine doing this as have others in the comments here. If your bose soundlink mini 2 has the same issues that mine did this should work for you. (Also want to add that I found mine sitting in a field on the side of a busy, non pedestrian road, probably tossed out, and it sat in the rain in my truck bed for a day. Fires right up, these are great speakers)

I experienced a similar issue on my SoundLink Mini 2 when I tried to update the firmware. Plugged in the dock to the PC, set the speaker on it again, and the updater said that my speaker needed to be recovered. I let it download it's update, it applied it, and my speaker was good as new (and updated!) Hope this helps someone out there!

THIS WILL WORK ,, THIS WILL WORK.... death******** TRUE: Your battery has become depolarized. Plug in your charger to your speaker. Plug the other end to the usb port or charger box. Plug in the usb side to the power source until you hear the beep on and off. And you get the *blinking light of ****** .. plug and unplug 20 times. Finally leave it plugged in and it should charge normally. I'm guessing once the battery has gotten old it is below the charging threshold. Plugging and unplugging forces it to get a minut amount of charge to sustain it.

I followed your instructions and after about 5 times plugging it in and unplugging it before the red battery light is had enough charge in the battery to support the operating system which regulates the charge cycle. Kind of a a design flaw. But it totally worked
This worked!!!! Thank you so much u was ready to bin the thing lol
I only had to plug/unplug three times...then it started charging and now my light is green. Thanks Mr. Withheld. You'd think BOSE would know about this.

I found this while searching to find an answer to solve my problem. It worked! Some say that it took them about 20 times... it took me about 7. Be patient and just keep trying! Hope this helps!
My NP 20 gave me the flashing red light of death and I got Casio to replace it. Then I had the same problem with my second NP 20 so I dug around for a way to fix it and I found the following advice on a site called FixYa. It worked instantly and I didn't risk ruining my battery.

I had the same problem as this.
what i did was...
i kept putting the battery on the charger then took it off as soon as the red light came on.
i did this about 6 times.
doing this puts a bit of charge in the battery each time before the charger starts to flash.
after the battery as got enough charge in it it can start to charge.
hope this helps.

have been having the same problem. Just pulled the lead out straight and stretched it and now it is charging red light on constantly. May have been a kink in the lead?

Battery problem. Well known problem with the NP-20 battery. It can be repaired by connecting it to ~4-4.5V 1-1.5A for about 5-10 seconds and then charged normally with the charger.
Of course a new battery will be better.

Its pretty simple to fix. The lithium battery has just depolarized. Just buy a 9V battery.... put them end to end... the 9V and the lithium and touch the metal parts of them. hold for 20 seconds... if it doesn't work, lick the 9V to conduct the electricity better.. hold for 20 seconds and put directly on the charger... I just did this, and it is charging as we speak! good luck!

SOURCE: Battery Dont Charge
jpierre's solution (in another thread) was right on the money. Touch
the positive (+)end of the 9v battery to the positive (+) end of the
camera battery.Leave them touching for a few seconds (10 seconds should
be more thansufficient). Seems these lithium-ion batteries are subject
to a'digital memory.' Subjecting it to a volt surge almost three
timeshigher seems to clear it.

In short, it works like a charm.

I had mine for 8 month before the flashing red light came on. I contacted Bose support via Chat and they set me up with a waranty repair. The cost is $13 shipping with UPS, it includes free return shipping. Also try to reset, if your unit still powers on, by holding down the Mute button for 10-20 seconds.

You must use internet explorer web browser and go to www.btu.bose.com follow insturctions and it will fix your issue - Mine had the same issue and the update worked even though it told me my unit was up to date it then allowed the unit to start charging normally.
