Kenmore front loader run with shipping bolts in

The Sears delivery and installation person left the shipping bolts in the back of machine. Unknowingly, ran the machine through a cycle. (It jumped around, pulled out the drain hose, flooded upstairs laundry room, leaked through ceiling in kitchen, and soaked kitchen hardwoods.) Husband removed bolts and it washes. However, could this cause future problems with machine? Would you have Sears replace the washer?

I just recently had a frontloader delivered WITH shipping bolts IN PLACE also... it did the whole LEAK EVERYWHERE thing too!!! The repair guy has already looked at the damage and the ENTIRE machine is being replaced as we speak. BOTH baskets had rips torn into them and it is only holding itself up by ONE shock right now. Sears definitely owes you BIG TIME!!! I'd DEMAND a new washer immediately.

I would have sears replace the washer and also replace all the damage in your house. If it pulled out the drain hose there could be damage in there, if they are not willing to replace the machine then they should run a thorough diagnostic to make sure EVERYTHING is in working order, and still replace what is damaged to your house

How to lock drum for moving

all machines come with installed Transit bolts, these are removed before the machine is used, and should be kept in case you need to move the machine later on. The transit bolts lock the drum to prevent movement whilst moving the machine. If you do not have these, I would suggest looking for some. However I have moved a machine without the bolts in and as long as you are reasonably careful there should be no problems.

I just bought a new washing machine and I am waiting on delivery. Can you tell me if the new machine comes with a drain hose?

The washer should come already equipped with the drain hose and color coded fill hoses (RED stripe for HOT water, BLUE stripe for COLD water. The water tap hookups are also embossed on the back of the washer, to ensure you don't cross the hoses. It will also have shipping bolts installed that stabilze the drum for delivery. If you're having it delivered, make sure the technicians remove the shipping bolts prior to using the washer.

WE recently purchased a front loading Frigidaire washer. I love it except we can't seem to get it level so it doesn't vibrate. It is on a concrete floor and thought the feet were self leveling but that's...

Make sure you have removed all the shipping bolts and straps. Front loaders come with bolts that go thru the back to keep the drum from moving during shipping. If you brought the washer home yourselves you may have left in these shipping bolts. Refer to you installation manual. It will give detailed instructions on how to set up your washer. If bolts are left in place the washer will vibrate and shake excessively and cause major damage if left in for too long.

Kenmore Washer/Dryer Stack -- Need to replace Washer

first of all. comming from a Sears Technician.. (don't yell) -- the delivery drivers only know about delivering stuff. they dont know too much,
if the two are the same size they can be stacked.
sometimes have to rig something up
and yes, for that model the top is removed, clips go on the rear and screwed at the front.
in some areas it is sold seperatly as a stacking kit

Moving my washer & dryer

find the original shipping stuff the long plastic dowels can be reinserted and if i remember right there is a bolt or pin that goes back through them to hold them in place.. if all else fails you may try removing top and shoving thick quilts down sides and back between drum and cabinet ..remove bottom and put something under tub to prevent a lot of motion up and down on the shocks and springs ..hope this helps i'm in repair not delivery so i seldom see the shipping materials if its not a long move just careful handling may be enough
