As soon as I plug in my RCA DLP Scenium HD50LPW164, the power light comes on and won't turn off.
Acording to the user manual...
"When you first plug your TV into an outlet, the Power indicator on thefront panel will light and blink for approximately 30 seconds and then go off during the initialization of the TV. The TV can only beturned on after the Power indicator goes off. This happens every time power is reapplied to the TV."
It seems that the system never finishes its power initializationsequence. The only noise I hear is the fan spinning. I'm thinking maybea fuse or bad power supply? or perhaps a bad ballast? Is theresomething I can do to test these components before I blindly buyreplacement parts?
I have the same problem with HD50LPW162 when plugged in the power indicated (on off button) comes on and stays on ,It wont finish its self test so I cant turn it on,I do know the bulb is bad as I have tested it and It shows to be open,I am reluctant to pay 300.00 for and new bulb if I also have another problem book says tv should power up and have sound when bulb is bad

Those are the two 5amp pico fuses that go out when the convergenec Ics go out on a mitsubishi. You can get the ICs and pico fuses at the following link. If youre not sure which ICs you need leave them a email with your model nuber.Heres the link

If it shuts off and then the power light starts blinking red or it never comes on but the power light just blinks red continuously that is usually indicative of the convergence ICs (STK 392-110). You never want to replace the ICs without also replacing the resistors that are associated with them. There are usually 6 resistors, one for each of the colors and there corresponding direction, IE Red horizontal, red vertical, blue horizontal, ect. In the case of this model tv all of the resistors are 2.2 Ohm and 2watts. You will find them right where the STK 392-110 ICs are. Right in front of them. They are blue and have this color code on them. Red, red, gold, gold. These are represented by stripes on the resistors. You can get the parts from www.bdent.com They carry the ICs and the resistors. 2200uf 25V, 220uf 25V ( bowed or vented). Located beside power transformer.
