Ps3 wont start up right - Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

I need more info.
Lets start off here. First your TV. is it on, and is it set to video front, video back or maybe yours is video 1 or video 2? make sure your TV is on the right video input for your PS3.
Next does the PS3 come on normal, press power button it comes on fan runs up, lights all come on and stay on, or does it beep and go back off?
Please give more info.

sadly, your PS3 is near YLOD (yellow light of death) it will start overheating soon, I suggest that you have someone clean the internals especially the fan and the heat sink... have them replace the thermal compound for the cooling system...

Try holding down the power button for 2 beeps. This will reset the PS3 video to standard mode.

sony is workin` on this right now.. I bet the problem started last night or this morning, right? `The Leap-Year Effect`, strikes again !. they hope to have it fixed in a day or two... I hope so too!

This problem is common with the PS3 and typical of a failure of the bluray drive. It can sometimes be resolved by cleaning the laser pickup lens but often the lens itself needs to be replaced.

Bad News eather one of two Motherboard or Hard drive. Call Sony For repair

Probably the controller. Try using a friends on your PS3. If that doesn't work, I'm sorry and I won't be able to help you.

ok right so your ps3 wont read disks huh well first of all id like to say this has happened to me twice and it has worked perfectly for me and i quarentee it will work for you ...

first save all your data to a memory stick

secondly go to settings, system settings, and format your ps3 by clicking on full format this will delete all your filles :( but will refresh your ps3


BTW this formatting thing will take atleast 4 hours so just leave your ps3 on and chill out watch t.v or something :)

How old is your PS3?
Not loading 1 particular disc or all disc?

Assuming you PS3 starts up into the console screen, and fairly used, it might be time to replace the lens.

I'm on the phone with Sony right now for the same thing...error 80010514? call them at 1-800-345-sony. I'm hearing it has to be sent in.
