SOURCE: Printing problem

I also own an HP D2360. I had the same problem with eyang and vinerc. I brought the printer to a computer technician and he told me that my color cartridge is busted and needs to be replaced. I bought
a new color cartridge and presto! My printer is working fine.

SOURCE: printer will not cancel print job

Sounds like the printer spool is frozen.

Assuming you're using WinXP and logged in as an administrator (or with admin permissions)

START
Control Panel
Administrative Tools
Services

Locate the "Print Spooler"
Right click on this and choose "restart"

This will restart the print queue and will probably try to print the job again or delete it properly. If it tries to restart, just right click on the printer job and choose cancel again..

You may need to repeat but that should at least get you back up and running with other print jobs again.

I cancelled a document while it was printing and it is still in my queue days later as deleting and it wont let me print anything else or restart that print job.

The best way to delete the print job is to turn the printer off, then disconnect the cable from the printer to the computer. Turn the printer on with the cables off, and go to your computer and delete the document, Then once it's deleted, turn the printer off again, and then hook the cable back up. Then turn the printer back on. That should do it.

Good Luck

Cancelled a job and it stays in queue

Cancel all the documents in the print queue, (just do it whether they are actually deleted or not), press "cancel" on button the printer and restart your system and also the printer. If possible, please leave the printer switched off for few minutes and don't forget to use the "Power" button to turn if off or on. This will help your printer to restart new print job, all the jobs on the print queue will be deleted/cleared. Good luck, Thanks for using FixYa.

Printer connected to computer and all is well but when i click on print it tells me that the document needed to be printed is pending and it just never gets printed

You probably have a print job stuck in the queue. Open Control Panel, then Printers and Faxes. Right click on your printer and click OPEN. Highlight the top entry and open Document menu and choose Cancel. You may need to turn off printer and then unplug it for 15 seconds to clear any faults in printer memory. Plug back in, turn on, then try.
