is there any way to factory reset thes tv's

  • Anonymous Dec 14, 2012

Since the screen size does not match what was indicated 48 and 52 I would say they have no reset like some of the newer sets. I did offer to help but cannot tell what is happening with set, first if you have a DVD player hooked to rear of set what do you get?

SOURCE: 60" RCA TV

The tuner in RCA is a known issue. I recommend connecting the satellite with RGB (Red-Green-Blue) component cables and red/white sound cables and use video. The picture will be better. The tuner repair can be pricey $$$

RCA 52 inch fuzzy screen no buttons work no sound cable doesnt work on it just fuzz

First is you removed power by unplugging the surge protector---this may have confused the micro in the set.

Unplug the set itself (with it turned off) for a while and plug it back to see--sounds like this is your problem to me. Usually in this case only the on/off button on the set works.

I can not program the tv with the cable, which input goes with the cable channel. I have a 32 inch RCA with SRS . HELP

I do not see a question. "Which input goes with the cable channel?" Don't understand. Is there a cable box or SAT box connected to the TV? What kind of cable is running to the TV from the source? If you just have the coax cable going from the wall to the TV, then you need to auto format the channels. Select menu on the TV remote. Find Sources or Cable. Select "Cable" not "Air". Select Auto Format. May take several minutes. Input selector from TV remote should be "TV".

HDLP50W151 50 in. Rear Projection HDTV Television: have a 48 inch rca projection tv and the picture i...

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right. And you should be able to get the grid straight.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a fix

No sound on JVC AV-48P575 48 inch rear projection TV

Try going into the menu and find something called, "center channel input." If it is on, the sound will not work. Turn it off, and the sound should be restored.

RCA 52 inch TV (turn on problems and channels rolling) HELP!

Your set uses the 195 series chasis. The only thing I can think of which would make the channels scroll by themselves is a contaminated PC board and pushbuttons behind the buttons on the front of the set. This is usually the case when spray cleaner or some other fluid is sprayed or spilled on the screen, and it drips down onto that board. To prove this, remove the back cover and on the top of the main chassis, where the top of the picture tubes are, is a small PC board with the remote reciever and a couple of jacks. The smaller jack is for the speakers and the larger jack is for the front panel PC board. Unplug the larger connector which goes up to the front PC board and then turn the set on with the remote. If the set works normally, the front PC board will have to be removed and cleaned or repaired (or just leave the jack unplugged and work the TV from the remote only). If you do not have any experience working inside projection sets then allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.

No picture on tv screen

When you say no picture, is there any sound or noise coming from rear of set when you try to turn on. If so then you have no high voltage and maybe a cap in the HV line that is bad. If no sound at all, then maybe a fuse or open resistor in powersupply.
