The tuner in RCA is a known issue. I recommend connecting the satellite with RGB (Red-Green-Blue) component cables and red/white sound cables and use video. The picture will be better. The tuner repair can be pricey $$$

It's easiest to hook up the rca plugs, the ones colored red, white and yellow. Run the audio and video out of the player to the audio and video in jacks on the back of the tv.
There's a few things you can try - change the source or how the source is hooked up. If you are hooked to satelite or cable box (source) try hooking hooking up to the tv (video 1or2 input) with video cables (RCA type -red.wht, Yel) from your source. Also try seeing if you have color when you play a DVD (if available). If it doesn't matter which source you use or how you hook it up you still have no color than the problem is internal to the TV.
These sets have a common problem with an internal comb filter circuit that can cause no color - but it usually also causes distotion in the oicture as well
Hope this helped, be sure to rate/vote for me if it did
Almost certainly this is not the TV. If you have the set hooked up to a digital cable box or satelite these would likely be the source of your problem.
you will only be able to get digital surround( dolby digital ) from your dvd player( by the coax or optical digital connections ) , the rest will only be in virtual surround
from the dtv box plug the yellow video jack(RCA) into the vcr video input , then plug the audio jack or jacks into the audio input on the vcr. from the vcr hook the audio out to the audio in on the reciever( tv/vcr/sat... input ) , then also connect RF out from the VCR to RF in on the TV .
for the dvd player hook the "s-video out" to the "s-video in" on the tv , then the audio L and R on same s-video input , then send the audio out connection on tv to L and R input on reciever dvd L and R input , then you will need to connect the optical from the dvd player to the reciever or coax connections for the dolby digital on the reciever to work
I am assuming that you are using a surround sound system? If so on the back of the satellite receiver you will have RCA cables labled yellow ,red, white uuse an rca cable to run from the output on the back of the sat box to an rca input on the surround sound unit.the inputs should be labled on the back of the surround sound unit.once you have the sat box plugged in look for the output on the surround sound (rca cables) run one set of rca cables to the rca cable input of the Tv.on the original tv remote select the tv input that is the cable from the surround sound is plugged in to . make sure the surround sound unit input is selected to the input that the sat box is plugged into.this will give you surround sound from your satellite receiver, repeat with your DVD player plugging the DVD rca cable output to another empty input on the surround sound.to switch between the sat box (satellite TV) to DvD select another input on the surround sound unit.Try to correspond the units you are plugging into the surround sound to the correct name of the component on the back of the surround sound unit to avoid confussion.any questions,Im here to help.If this works rate me FIXYA! if it helps.GOOD LUCK!
