RCA 52 inch TV (turn on problems and channels rolling) HELP!
I have a 52 inch RCA projection tv. Sometimes the tv will not turn on and if I leave it unplugged from a while and then plug it back it, it will come on. After the tv is on for a while, it will start to roll thru the channels 02-99. I can't stop this process until I unplug the tv again. Please let me know what to do.

Your set uses the 195 series chasis. The only thing I can think of which would make the channels scroll by themselves is a contaminated PC board and pushbuttons behind the buttons on the front of the set. This is usually the case when spray cleaner or some other fluid is sprayed or spilled on the screen, and it drips down onto that board. To prove this, remove the back cover and on the top of the main chassis, where the top of the picture tubes are, is a small PC board with the remote reciever and a couple of jacks. The smaller jack is for the speakers and the larger jack is for the front panel PC board. Unplug the larger connector which goes up to the front PC board and then turn the set on with the remote. If the set works normally, the front PC board will have to be removed and cleaned or repaired (or just leave the jack unplugged and work the TV from the remote only). If you do not have any experience working inside projection sets then allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.

The tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead. The tv have colors lines R,G,B mis alignment, have colors shadows pictures or 3D pictures look alike? The tv convergence board have dead 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too. These parts on the tv convergence board, must be replaced to solved the tv picture convergence problems. The shop, will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.
Go to menu then setup look for convergence if you Do NOt see convergence then you have a open fuse FL231 Located on right side of FBT there is 3 in a roll small brown rectrangle looking caps but they are Fuses it will be in the one in the middle.
Please post the model number of your RCA as usually its a bad flyback and start up capacitor when you get a 3 blink error code . But I can help you better if I have the model number of your set.
This is a problem common with some RCA/GE TV's.
The fix in the past was to install a capacitor between ground and pin 15 of the microprocessor which keeps a data signal riding on the video stream from muting the sound on most stations. By installing this capacitor, you would be disabling the closed caption feature so that feature would no longer work. An authorized RCA TV repair shop may be able to give you more information.
