Too much freon? Or maybe you got the controls mixed up. My refrigerator used to freeze a gallon of milk over-night.

The freezer door was left open .. Compressor will not turn off even though freezer temperature now -21.

Try adjusting the temprature control knob. Make a mental note of what it's set at before changing. If compressor doesn't stop at warmest setting the sensor may be bad.

How to adjust temperature

Hi, Please use your thermostat to adjust your temperature setting. Most refrigerator thermostat is come with actual temperature setting at thermostat dial but it just use range : cold-medium-off ( or 5...5..3....1..0). So for instance to get your refrigerator colder just set between medium - cold. If your thermostat defective , your refrigerator will work unpredictably. In this case you need to fix or replace the thermostat.

Hi. My fridge is about a month old. Although we have the freezer set at 8 degrees (the warmest it will set to), the freezer is extremely cold. Ice cream becomes rock hard (we can't even cut it with a...

This is not an adjustment issue, this is a malfunction issue. If you have a thermometer that you can place in the freezer, as opposed to any temperature readings from the freezer itself, your temps would normally be around 0 degrees F. At the warmest freezer settings, you should be around 10 degrees, which would make your ice cream very scoopable. I would contact the store you purchased it at or Samsung for a refrigerator repair service as soon as possible before they tell you its no longer covered under warranty.

My refrigerator keeps freezing on the refrigerator side

your damper door is frozen fully open between the refrigerator and freezer compartments and letting in too much cold air even though the temp setting is set on warmest setting, defrost it and then adjust the cold control and see if it moves again,if it freezes often the door seals may be letting in warm air from outside, condensing and freezing things up

The fridge is on its warmest setting and still freezes produce in the refrigerator.

The proper temperature should be between 35 and 42 degrees. Here are some things to try:

  • If your refrigerator temperature is closer to 35 degrees, try turning the temperature up slightly.

  • If you find that the temperature varies a lot from the top shelf to the bottom (where it is coldest), try putting produce and other sensitive products on a higher shelf.

  • If the temperature is too low and you can't make it warmer by adjusting the thermostat, you probably have a defective thermostat. If so, you need to replace it, because they cannot be repaired. Other possible problems are a leak in the sealed (refrigerant) system, cold air migration (in side-by-side models) or a defective air damper. These problems can be quite difficult to locate and correct, we recommend you contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

Ice on the inside of the refrigerator

Where is the ice? Is the food freezing? The control is adjustable, because they were made to be adjusted. If it is too cold then adjust the control 1 number or letter warmer, then wait 24 hours between each adjustment for the temperature to stabilize. I dont think you need service unless you get to the warmest setting and it is still freezing. I have kept my own GE refrigerator on #1 (the warmest setting) for 12 years. Works perfectly there.
