After I reset it this last time, it keeps saying at the main screen open tray, so I open the tray and close it and it just repeats the same thing over and over again. PS3. worked fine first two days. next day it freezes every time I try manually save or load, also stopped auto-saving. tried starting a fresh game, same thing. after checking online definetely seems like it's the game and not the system. alot of freezing issues for this game and they are not all the same kind of freezing (when they freeze).
Maybe you should try different games? see if those different games freeze, if so, then it might be your blu-ray player in your ps3, or your ps3 might be overheating. my games froze at certain points because my ps3 was overheating, just try a few different games

ok, so I saw this solution posted elsewhere and it works for me.
like I said above my freezing only came when trying to manually save or load. but at first the game worked fine, then the other day this poblem came from nowhere. I think the game updated and the update caused my perticular issue.
so the fix is easy, but means disabling the internet connection before playing, and deleting the online profile. I am waiting for them to patch this latest problem before connecting online with saints.
I should point out that this was a carry over from another message that I somehow included in my post, I did not have this problem.

yeah deleting the online profile seems to work but you have to do it
every freaking time before you start up the game i dont know why but i
play online alot and it only happend after the last update to bad i
deleted everything off my ps3 before i found out how to fix the problem

ya I definetely think their update is to blame. like I said I'll wait til they fix this issue before going online with saints (actually I've been busy with oblivion now)
i have the same type problem only mine freezes when i finish one of the son of samedie missions and how exactly do i delet my online thing
