Maytag Neptune Door Locked

i've had this occur in the past and the way i got the door open was to unplug the machine for 30 seconds or so and then plug it back it. sometimes it'll reset and unlock. hope it works for you.

try it on a spin cycle if it does not work then it could be your door interlock has failed

unscrew the soap cover. you will find a nylon cord usually red or green. pull that and the door will unlock. then replace the lock unit

access to pump through the back of machine if water in the machine it locks up after 3 attempts to pump out clear the pump by taking the hoses off and yes you will need lots of towels hopefully if you clear the pump reassemble thats the repair done door opens after water pumps out always unplug the machine first

If you have a Maytag Neptune MAH3000, MAH4000, MAH5500A or a 2000 stacker then your wax motor might be the issue. See www.neptunehelp.com for info on the faulty door latch wax motor and how to fix it.

If unplugging machine does not allow the door to open then remove the 4 philips screws on the soap dispenser bezel ( under lid) and remove it. There should be a colored plastic cord in there you can pull on to unlock the door, It is an emergency pull cord.

The comment posted 14 may 2009 it what helped me. DO NOT PRY OPEN the door. Find the release cord inside the soap dispenser,,,you may have to remove the 4 screws and lift it from the washer like i did. I had to lean into the door and pull the cord to release the lock. It was not a system error. The washer was over loaded and although the door was closed and locked...the load pushed the door enough to indicate that it was open and would not wash. After opening the door, rearranging the load and removing some, the door closed and latched locked and was able to continue with the wash. DO NOT PRY OPEN,,,use the cord release first,,,this worked for me.

The "FL" is indicating that the door has failed to lock or it locked but the control does not sense the door has locked.

It could be caused by:
faulty door lock solenoid
loose wire connection
faulty door lock switch
faulty door lock sense switch
bad control board

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your washer.
but try this first just in case....unplug it for 1 minute plug back in and see if the fault code clears.

The manual says that you should push the on/off button to turn off the machin. Wait for 2 minutes for the door to unlock. Then open the washer door.
