This is hard to get to - requires removal of the top plastic cover, coffee bean holder and adjuster, water inlet pipe, front boiler before you can even get to it.

The part itself is common and is not expensive but I suggest you get a quote from your service agent - unless you can do the job yourself without any drama.

Check to make sure its 'clicking' when you put the drawer in. The contact tab on the drawer left side back may also be missing causing the switch not to be activated.

My Saeco Royal Professional won't grind: "blocked grinder" message

Hello, I had exactly the same problem. In my case, it seems that the grinder was not ejecting the grounds into the doser with enough force to move the pressure plate and trigger the microswitch. My grinder motor might be wearing out, but I decided to try increasing the sensitivity of the microswitch before I spent so much. I replaced the microswitch, but that didn't solve the problem. Instead, I added a spacer (~2mm, but you'll have to play with it to adjust the pressure for your switch) between the doser pressure plate lever arm and the microswitch. That has been working very well for the last month. Very occasionally I get the same message again, but if I tell it to brew again the second grinding succeeds. I hope this helps!

I got the replacement microswitch at http://www.saecoparts.com/

Check behind the drawer, there might be some grinds preventing the it from activing the microswitch.

Continually have message saying dreg drawer is missing but dreg drawer is in place

Remove drawer and clean coffee grounds behind it, there might be something keeping it from reaching the microswitch.

Not working

Three possible causes.

1. The drawer where the coffee grounds end up is not properly inserted. To fix insert drawer completely.
2. The tab on the left side of the drawer is broken off. To fix purchase an new drawer.
3. The drawer microswitch has a problem. There could be many reasons for this. The machine will have to be opened up to see whats wrong.

Dregdrawer. miss.

Make sure the machine is clean of coffee grinds. Mine has a nasty habit of dropping them behind the dregdrawer instead of in it. Remove the central unit and give it a good clean. The dregdrawer should then slide back fully into the microswitch.
If this doesn't work, you've probably got a dud microswitch.

"dregdrawer" is full

Hi,

You must have the dregs box out of the machine 5-10 sec and the machine have to be power on.
If it still not get to work then try this:

Make sure the pin on the side not is worn, the pin goes to a microswitch in the machine.
If it is worn then try to put a tape on it to see if help.

Best regards

Replacing micro switch

Hi,

You have to take of the top, there are several screw to loosen.

  1. Take off the water tank and bean hopper
  2. Take out drip tray and dregbox
  3. loosen the two screw in front where the dregbox and driptray was ( one in each corner)
  4. Take of the plastic adjustment in the right corner (grinder adjustment)
  5. Loosen the screw in chassi where the water tank was, look inside where the beanhopper was to make sure there not are a screw, some models have one there. If there are one you will see that behind the grinder.
  6. Take off the plastic on your steam pipe.
  7. Take off the top.
  8. On the right side near the hole where you put pregrounded coffee, there will be a little microswitch.
I hope this will help you

The Honeywell V7-1C17E9 microswitch is a form/fit replacement for this Defond switch. You can get it at www.alliedelec.com. I had one fail in a Delta DT1600E Pressure Washer. The replacement switch worked great. Good luck.
