Sounds like the color wheel has shatterd, thats a fairly common problem with that model.

I used the internet and found others who had the same problem. Two individuals had a brief description on how to replace the color wheel in a DLP TV. Three small torque screws and a ribbon connector was all that was need for removal; once the access panel on the back was opened. I would guess that this process is the same for all DLP TV's, with some small variations!

REMOVE ALL SCREWS AROUND SCREEN AND REMOVE SCREEN. REMOVE 2 SCREWS HOLDING PLASTIC PIECE IN MIDDLE. GENTLY SLIDE OFF CIRCUIT BOARD (JUST GLUED FROM THE BACK). REMOVE PLASTIC PIECE TO EXPOSE OPTICAL CHASSIS. REMOVE THE LAST REMAINING SCREW FOR LIGHT FIXTURE. REMOVE 3 SCREWS HOLDNIN COLOR WHEEL. REMOVE RIBBON PLUGS AND REERSE THE PROCESS TO INSTALL.
