Hi, I have a 50" RCA DLP with the model number HD50LPW62AYX2. I need to change the color wheel but cannot find any how-to's when I google it. Although, there seems to be a lot of info including how-to videos for Samsungs. I believe the color wheel part number I need is RCA 267888. Any information or pictures (depicting the location of the color wheel) you can give me would be greatly appreicated! Thanks, Mike
RCA 267888 Color Wheel: I ordered a new color wheel and it was back ordered so I took my original wheel apart, soaked it with wd-40 then blew it dry. (lots of black **** Carbon?) cleaned the color wheel with windex LOL, then replaced it. works great, don't know for how long but i'll let you know
REMOVE ALL SCREWS AROUND SCREEN AND REMOVE SCREEN. REMOVE 2 SCREWS HOLDING PLASTIC PIECE IN MIDDLE. GENTLY SLIDE OFF CIRCUIT BOARD (JUST GLUED FROM THE BACK). REMOVE PLASTIC PIECE TO EXPOSE OPTICAL CHASSIS. REMOVE THE LAST REMAINING SCREW FOR LIGHT FIXTURE. REMOVE 3 SCREWS HOLDNIN COLOR WHEEL. REMOVE RIBBON PLUGS AND REERSE THE PROCESS TO INSTALL. Mine started to howl last year, I sprayed out the motor using carb cleaner / lubricant. Its been running fine for over a year since.
My guess is, the bushing gets plugged with dust particals. If you catch it as soon as it starts to squeek, the carb cleaner trick may work for you too.

I pulled the color wheel out of my rca tv. ordered a new one, it's back ordered so i decided to take my old one apart lots of black carbon?
cleaned it out with wd40 a ,llittle silicone lube cleaned the color wheel with windex lol replaced it. oh **** it workes perfect. Don't know how long it will last but i'll let you know.
