You have blocked printhead nozzles. If several deep cleaning cycles cannot fix the problem then a new printhead is required.
NOTE printheads are expensive and in most cases purchasing a new printer will be the most cost effective solution.

SOURCE: colour errors

I would try changing photo papers to see if that improves or worsens the balance.
The absorbtion rate of papers differs greatly which can influence colo(u)r saturation.

(My American grade-school teachers used to foam at the mouth when using the English lost 'u'.)

SOURCE: iP4300 only recognizes magenta OR cyan

1. Get compressed air
2. Run Printhead under HOT water, do not worry about contacts getting slightly wet.

3. Blow compressed air with straw attachment into screens where the cartridge nozzle sits on printhead. then let it sit and dry.

4. reinstall print test page

5. if this fails open paint/photoshop and print a page of the color that is not printing correctly. rinse and repeat until colors flow freely.

I have several ip4300s and I have yet to give up the ghost on a printer with a clog ujsing this method.

SOURCE: Printing colour is wrong, colours come out pink.

> replaced the print head

Did you replace the tri-colour ink-cartridge, or did you replace the print-head mechanism?

Are you sure that the CYAN part of the ink-cartridge is not empty?

I have a Canon Pixma MP270 and I can only print in colour both the black and colour lights are lit up on the printer

f print quality does not improve by the standard cleaning of the Print Head, clean the Print Head deeply. Cleaning the Print Head deeply consumes more ink than the standard cleaning of the Print Head, so clean the Print Head deeply only when necessary.
1. Make sure that the power is turned on.

2. Clean the Print Head deeply. (1) Press the g0022565.png (Maintenance) button repeatedly until y appears. g0054776.png
(2) Press the Black or Color button.
The machine starts cleaning the Print Head deeply. Do not perform any other operations until the machine completes the deep cleaning of the Print Head. This takes about 2 minutes.

3. Check the print head condition.

When the deep cleaning is completed, the LED returns to the copy standby mode. To check the print head condition, print the nozzle check pattern.

See " Printing the Nozzle Check Pattern".

If the problem is not resolved, turn off the power and clean the Print Head deeply again after 24 hours.
If the problem is still not resolved, replace the FINE Cartridge with a new one.

See " Replacing FINE Cartridges".
If the problem is still not resolved after replacing the FINE Cartridge, contact the service center.

Printing the Nozzle Check Pattern
Print the nozzle check pattern to determine whether the ink ejects properly from the print head nozzles.

NOTE If the remaining ink level is low, the nozzle check pattern will not be printed correctly. Replace the FINE Cartridge whose ink is low.
See " Replacing FINE Cartridges".

You need to prepare: a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper

1. Make sure that the power is turned on.

2. Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the Rear Tray.

3. Open the Paper Output Tray gently, and open the Output Tray Extension.

4. Print the nozzle check pattern.

(1) Press the g0020617.png (Maintenance) button repeatedly until A appears. g0054754.png
(2) Press the Black or Color button.

The nozzle check pattern will be printed.

5. Examine the nozzle check pattern.
See Examining the Nozzle Check Pattern.

Examining the Nozzle Check Pattern

Examine the nozzle check pattern, and clean the Print Head if necessary.

1. Check if there are missing lines in the pattern (1) or horizontal white streaks in the pattern (2). g0054755.png (1) Check if lines are missing in this pattern. If yes, the cleaning is required.
See " Cleaning the Print Head".

g0020623.png
(A) Good
(B) Bad (lines are missing)

(2) Check if horizontal white streaks are present in this pattern. If yes, the cleaning is required.
See " Cleaning the Print Head".

Canon i550 not printing any color, Prints in black OK but no color.

Please check nozzle head pattern first. Is your print head pattern printed perfectly?. Be sure that the print head pattern is ok. No missing line or column. If your nozzle colour is not printed at all even just one point, check the print head or try to clean the print head.

Canon MP510 skips and makes 2 small blank lines going DOWN the pages, in only cyan and magenta. The two lines show up on the Nozzle Check Pattern but only on cyan and magenta.

Banding as they call this and skiped print is probably caused by the the print head being PARTIALLY BLOCKED. Do a nozzle check and check the 4 colour matrix patterns that are printed out do NOT have ANY missing lines. Mine did till I used recovery fluid to soak the head over 2-3 days this cleared the problem completely.

If the printed nozzle check pattern is broken, missing, or a specific color is not printed, clean the print head.
MEMO:
a. Cleaning the print head consumes a small amount of ink. Cleaning too often reduces the amount of ink in the ink tanks.
b. Print head cleaning is performed when you connect the power cord. Your machine may perform print head cleaning periodically to avoid clogging.
  1. In either COPY, PHOTO, or FILM menu screen, press <Menu> button.
  2. Press the left or right arrow to select [Maintenance/Settings], then press <OK>.
  3. Use left or right arrow to select [Maintenance] and press <OK>.
  4. Use up or down arrow to select [Print Head Cleaning] or [Head Deep Cleaning] as necessary and then press <OK>.
When prompted to clean the print head, use the up arrow to select [Yes and then press <OK>.

IMPORTANT:
If normal print head cleaning does not improve print quality, perform deep print head cleaning.
Print Head Alignment in Windows
If colors mix or streaks appear in the nozzle check pattern, perform the print head alignment.
The print head alignment can be performed either automatically or manually.
If the automatic print head alignment does not resolve the problem, perform the print head alignment manually.
