My computer is very slow, I have 384 MB of Ram, is it a way to put more memory on it? Thanks!

To get a very detailed report of your system and its expansion capabilities, download (free) Belarc Advisor and let it examine your system. Keep its report for future reference and it can also help you or a tech if trouble arises. It will tell you how many memory slots you have available total and let you know what the maximum capacity of your system is.
Belarc Advisor
You must have MS Internet Explorer available (any version 4.0 or later) since Advisor uses it to display the report.

Check your security settings in Internet Options If the security level is set too high, that is the problem.

Hp toatal care advisor states internet security at risk, but the fire wall and anti-virus that they are on.

hp total advisor is the software from HP which doesnt work like an antivirus,it is justt a way you can connect to hp for any hardware support.

no antivirus may have the same results,if one says the computer is safe ,the other would give you an error or security message, if you have norton or mcafee or any other antivirus ,update it and run a scan ,

also you may get your computer cleaned up for free by contacting one of the technician at
www.techbuddies.org they provide free tech-support for no charge, amazing but its true.

Make sure the firewall is not blocking access to the internet. Try turning off the firewall for a while... to test if that is the problem.

Trying to download the Cox Security Suite software. Was told to delete any Macafee on my computer. I did. Clicked on "install Cox Security Suite. A message came up " McAfee Sucuirity cannot continue-...

McAfee's uninstall doesn't work. They know that, so they have a special removal tool that you download and run. The instructions are here: http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507

Follow the directions carefully. If you think it's hard to remove McAfee, try Norton sometime.

Well i had just bought a lynksys router from my friend with no software cd so right now i am trying to download the software online so when i switch my cox modem with the linksys modem i want the software...

You should be able to get any software that you need from LinkSys.com but I have a couple of quick questions first:

1. Is the LinkSys unit you just purchased a router or modem?

If the unit is a router, you are still going to need a Cox compatible modem. If the unit is a modem, you will still need a router to complete the network setup unless LinkSys makes a combination cable router/modem, and I haven't been able to research one.

2. If it is a modem, is it a cable modem and, if it is, is it Cox compatible?

According to the Cox Web Site, the only models of LinkSys modems that are currently compatible with the Cox High Speed Cable Internet Service are:

BEFCMU10 v3
BEFCMU10 v4
WCG200
WCG200 v2
CM100

In this particular case, you may need to contact LinkSys and/or your Internet Service Provider. In most cases, they will not only tell you exactly what type of equipment you need, they will also talk you through setting up the network once you have the equipment - usually at no charge.
